Weird brake issue
Weird brake issue
Okay my van has been messed up for a week so we switched cars. When I last drove my 2000 Accord V6 EX Coupe, very rare squeal of the brakes and no brake light. My wife uses the car for a few days and I got to take it out tonight. Nothing but heavy grinding.
Can pads go south that fast? Something worse?

i would disassemble and see what the cause is.
the low pad indicator started to scrape the other day out of no where. Not just a light scrape but a wtf is dragging/broke.
I thought it was a wheel bearing when i was taking the wheel off sinceit was difficult to rotate the wheel. once i got the pads off the hub moved freely and the pads looked worn.
It really had me puzzled, but i am glad it was only $20 brake pads.

On a 2000 Accord, the brake light indicator light does NOT indicate low pad life. It is for a malfunctioning brake LAMP.
I've only seen what you are talking about on upscale brands and models.
