Water Leaking Into Integra

Since there's not an Integra forum...

My girlfriend's 2000' Integra seems to have water leaking into the car when it rains. More so, it seems to be only when the car is moving and more on the passenger side (although both passenger and driver's side gets wet). This is the the point where you can see the water on the floor. Anyone have any ideas on what can cause this or where I can find more info on this problem? I'm not too familiar with which Integra forum would provide the best insight.

Thanks ahead for any help.

-Joe

Pull up the carpet and look for rust damage or openings in the floor or firewall.

Just because the seats are dry does not mean the sunroof isn't leaking. I've seen cars where the carpets were ruined and the seats were fine where the sunroof was leaking.

I just don't think its the sunroof b/c the sides of the car are dry, seats are dry, etc. Only the floors are wet. Its not dripping either as far as I can tell. I'll look at it more in detail tomorrow though, just in case. Thanks for the tip.

check to see if the a/c condenser line and drain lines are clog free. Also check the drain lines for any stuff that might block it up. Clean out the leaves from the gutter guard under the windshield and rip out the headliner to see if water enters through there due to body flex.

Csmeance is on the right track-- check the sunroof drain lines to see if they are clogged. Try pouring a cupful of water into the drain holes when the sunroof is open to see if the water runs out onto the ground.

Does this leaking occur whether the A/C is on or off? If it leaks when the A/C is off, it's not the condensation line (which shouldn't be routed into the interior).

I had a Mustang heater core blow on me once-- lots of radiator fluid leaked into the passenger compartment until I bypassed the heater core...

G/L.

I had this problem on two of my cars, both American, but you may have a similar problem. I had leaks coming in through the firewall on the passenger side. It was tough to find, but I finally had a friend put a garden hose on the ride side of the firewall in the engine compartment while I observed the interior underneath the dash. In each case the firewall was fractured along the seam. If this doesn't work try running the hose on the outside of the windshield as well as Will Y's suggestion.

DING DING DING, this happened to my brothers integra. Do you get a little spillage from under the glove compartment when you go around corners? There is a small reservoir there where the water builds up a tiny bit. If so, your fix may only cost a metal clothes hanger or 10 minutes at the shop.

When I was looking for Integras, I saw this a lot. Some had water leaking into the trunk even.... pull up the carpet and there was a little swimming pool with rust at the bottom. Its usually one of the drain lines.

Your best bet is www.team-integra.net Best Integra enthusiast website I've visited yet. There are still ricers and clowns there but not as bad as hondatech.
