Want to go buy a new (to me) car asap.

Pardon the novel.

Been on this board awhile, and as a few of you know and most of you don't I've been going to med school in Europe the past 3 years (Polska to be exact). I have one year left here before I finish up in the States next year. Long story short, exchange rate is good right now, it's springtime and I have the itch. Went down the local dealership today and rummaged through the trash including a very appealing E36 Coupe that I had my eyes set on until I saw up close rust in the worst spots, missing lug nuts etc. I then narrowed it down to 2 cars:

1993 Toyota Celica 2.0, I think a GT --> 3900zl ~ $1200USD
Pro's- Looks pretty great in person, pop-up headlights, first opportunity in my short life to own a "sporty" coupe.
Cons- No muffler (although does make for a nice sound lol), Backseats can almost be rendered useless and I'd like to do a few more road trips with my buddies..i'm thinking it can carry 3 people with their stuff, 4 would be a squeeze for sure

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

1996 Honda Accord 2.0 Diesel 4100zl ~ $1300USD
Pro's- 4 Doors = room for friends, Honda reliability, something like 46MPG i think
Con's- Probably not nearly as fun, I already own a CD5 Accord in the states, pretty boring to look at

Both of these cars have 240K KM on them. (145,000miles)

Get the diesel, it will run forever if you are just gonna use it for traveling.

I think it was an Isuzu motor, part of their collaboration back in the day. Do you know anything about the reliability on these engines or no? I plan on going back Tuesday/Wednesday to finalize something. Pretty excited as my 03 TL-S and CD5 Accord were purchased for me, I guess this would be first car purchase hahah.

I say go with the diesel. I just did a fill up in the UK and it set me back $130 plus. 46 MPG for the win.

I'm leaning heavy on the Accord now as well, hopefully I have good news to report back later this week. Trying to take a trip to Prague in the first week of May so I need a set of wheels quite soon.

Actually its a land rover diesel.

As part of the tie-up with the Rover Group the European Accord spawned Rover's replacement for the Austin Montego in 1993. Called the 600, the car shared its platform with the European Accord and, with the exception of the front doors, lower rear doors and windscreen, sported unique styling which dispensed with the rear quarter windows. The interior design of the 600 was very similar to the Accord's however, while the dashboard design was identical.

Update

Yesterday I ended up coming home with a silver 5 speed 1999 Nissan Primera (Infiniti G20) with 190k km on it. Picked it up for 4,000 zloty ~ $1350 USD. Great running condition. One major problem that I just noticed today though, yesterday I had noticed that the left wiper arm was broken off, and today I realized it was the whole wiper assembly because it doesn't even turn on. Besides that, for $1300 I think I did alright.
