The Lexus IS is superior to the TLX in every possible way...good choice, congrats!!!
Thanks!
Well,... it's missing some features that TLX has:
Brake auto hold
Lane keep assist
Driver memory seat
Lower MPG
Plus features that both TLX and IS is missing:
Heads Up Display
Other than that,...Loving the fact that I don't have to slow down for corners!! And when I turn to sport mode,... that beast moans like there's no tomorrow!
And Adaptive Variable Suspension,.... Oh,... so sexy!
the is250's v6 is a 2.5L 204hp.. about the same power as the 2.4 in the ILX. it weights almost 3800.. 0-60 in 7.8 quarter mile at 16.1 (from car and driver)
Yeah, some of the basic luxury features like memory seats are included in "packages" for the IS250. I had the prior generation IS250 and really liked it - just wanted a little more room and comfort when I was ready for a new car (hence the TLX).
Not sure about the comment "that beast moans like there's no tomorrow" when referencing the IS250 - the performance is very similar to the 2.4 TLX . And my "seat of the pants" dynamometer confirms this.
By the way, in my opinion the V6 TLX should be compared to the V6 IS350, not the V6 IS250.
In any case, enjoy the new IS - I'm sure you'll like it.
This doesn't totally make sense. This IS, good-looking as it is, is missing some of the luxury features you were hoping and waiting for on the 2016 TLX. I haven't owned a car without driver's memory other than my S2000 and wife's dearly departed Pilot, for 15 years. I must be spoiled.
Must have been a hell of a deal, though, to make you snap it up....and I always respect a good deal!

That was a 4x4 version. The RWD version is 7.1/15.5 in the little V6, not great but similar to the TLX 2.4 (the ILX & TLX share the same engine) which is a little quicker but still slow.
That said a small V6 has to be a lot smoother running than the same size I4. Also you can't get AWD on the small TLX.
The full Lexus V6 350 is quite a bit quicker & highly rated. Do you know which one the OP bought?

none of that really matters when the lexus > Acura in terms of looks.

That's what I thought also, and in general it's probably true. However, when driving the TLX 2.4 next to my IS250, they appeared about the same. It may be due to the more quiet interior of the new TLX vs my 2010 IS250.

Sound will depend on a lot of things but more cylinders make for a smoother running engine. I4's are natural vibrators & run extra parts to help tame it. Honda uses an internal balance shaft in the 4 to minimize it.
Ignore the Acura fanboys. The IS is a great car. Congrats and enjoy.
as long as the guy likes his car nothing else matters but the minute he said he was tired of waiting on a tlx you had to consider what he could have gotten instead. TLX V6 SHAWD Advance is about the same price as a IS250 Fsport.
Congrats! The IS is a great looking car. You got $10k off because the IS250 is about to be replaced with the turbocharged IS200t within the next few months

Reading some of the replies above it looks like it was used as well (maybe a demo?)...

There's no reason to be knocking $10K off any car just because of new models that won't be arriving for another few months. We don't even knock $10K off our retired demos with 4-5,000 miles.
It was likely an old unit or even a demo they needed to move.

Show me where i can get 10k off on a TLX V6 SHAWD Advance?

And the Acura still looks like a boring uninspired design with similarly boring interior. My opinions of course.
Reviews have said the 4 cyl model with stick inspired driving feelings of acuras of yore...but the v6 model, not so much.
Love the new IS, don't listen to the fanboys. The IS has lots of features that the TLX lacks such as exhaust tips, driving dynamics, interesting styling, great interior, and a user friendly infotainment system.
