Wagon?

I have been thinking about getting rid of my Tahoe since I don't actually tow anything (like I said would when I bought it). Anyways, after thinking about what I really need, I have come to the conclusion that a wagon is it. I need room for my bike (I do not want to get a bike rack and leave my bike out in the open), and I need room for the ocassional run to the hardware store.

So, with that said, what do I look at? I am looking at the Legacy GT, but am not to happy with the idea of buying new, and there are not many on the used market. What else is there to look at around $25k?

Magnum is cool, but expensive, no?

My only concern with the WRX is that it is small. I will look into both

You can get a used magnum (non-hemi) for about that or much less used. I've been seeing the SXT models for 21-22k with low miles.

I love VW, so I would look into a Passat with 4Motion, but thats me

Magnum. Smaller wagons arent going to cut it, I think.

I tried to fit a Beach Cruiser in my Cruiser unsuccessfully. (Well I do have a sub box but its pretty small). Depending on the bike it may just be at an awkward angle to fit it in.

If a Magnum is a bit much take a look at a Subie Forrester, Scion xB, Chevy HHR, or a PTCruiser. fwiw I know that the Forrester and PTCruiser have a huge aftermarket of performance enhancing mods to support these products.

How about a pre-owned Volvo Cross Country? I think it's a compromise between an Audi wagon and a Subaru.

There's always that

Try to get one with factory warranty at least then.

Still, a 8 cyl wagon w/6 speed is pretty hot. That engine is sick

My vote is for a Subie Wagon. They're beautiful and you'll never have any problems with it.

Get a Certified Audi S4 Avant. That should give you a little extra space and be a decently appointed interior in addition. Hell a couple grand in modding will also get your other fix covered.

That's why I said the S4 Avant. They come in just a little bit less on the used market.

my parents have a 03' V6 passat wagon, and there have been very little problems so far. It has a bit over 50k and I can't really think of any problems so far. Like a lot of VW's it does use some oil so you have to kinda keep an eye on that. It has had a few stupid little things, like the trim didn't want to stay on.

I forget, my dad wanted to make sure to buy a VW that was still made in germany vs. the ones made in brazil or something. I think when we bought it, they were still making all the wagon models (passat and jetta) in germany.

the S4 avant is really hot too,

I've always loved the S4 Avant...but I always thought even buying one used it would still cost a bunch...with that said I have no idea where you could find a S4 Avant for 25k and under
