On the vurge of purchasing G35c..

Well...with any luck..i am going to be driving a 2003 G35c by the end of the week.....
My good friend, and neighbor is a Sales Manager, and he brought one home for the weekend!!...so i got to drive this thing on sunday and let me tell you...a true sports coupe/touring coupe...whatever you want to call it.....the car is sick!

Desert Platinum with Willow (tan ) interior...auto with manual mode, 6-disc CD BOSE , Sunroof, heated seats, AWESOME NAV! (pop-up).

THis is a dealer demo/left over with 5k miles on it..asking $32K

He is going to try to work the numbers today, but hopefully, it works out and it is mine

the car is really fast, endless amount of torque, and rather smooth riding. TOTALLY different feel than the CL-S..RWD makes a huge difference!

i will keep u all posted

CL-S has both auto/manual mode , 6speed, 6-indash cd-BOSE, sunroof, heated seats too.

But to extrapolate on this; lets compare a cfew features.

1) To many, the CL-S has a better interior design and material.

2) The CL-S has a larger trunk and seems to have more interior room.

3) The CL-S costs less.

So your point was obviously off base and worth nothing; as are all of your other posts.

What the G35C has over the CL-S is a great RWD chassis and a beatiful exterior. However, that chassis capability edge will never be utilized by 99.9% of the owners negating its benefits. It is only of benefit on paper for most, which I know you would fall into this category.

Sounds like a great car... but as a friendly advise, DO NOT BUY A DEALER DEMO CAR!!!!! People trash it on test drives.. they are better off leaving it on the lot as loaners. Those cars never get broken in properly, I even know some mechanics who works at dealerships admit to me that when they get new cars like that, they take turns having fun/beating it.

As a fellow fourm member, I urge you, please don't buy this one. But if you still want to buy a G35c, that's great.

ps. get a damn manual!!!!

Well said. Not sure about CL costing less but I'll give you that one. Trunk is bigger by a great margin. Seats fold down in the G and not in the CL. Interior room, I rate about the same (no measurements but kinda like the butt dyno ), Interior quality? It remains to be seen. Feels okay to me but my EZ-Pass fell of the windshield and scratched the plastinium dash. The leather on my black CL was getting kinda tired when it left. So far the leather on the G looks fine and feels good. Memory seats is a thing I miss the most. Dealer demo....hmmm..... that creats a dilemna!

The Cl-S loaded with manual and Navi is and will always be cheaper than an identically equipped 35c due to lower demand and an excellent value direct from the factory...yet if I was able to spend about 8 grand more when i was looking, I would have got the g35 but I love my cls 03 loaded for the 27,5 i got it for and it wasn't a dealer demo...

My G35 was $34,500 less a grand for a good guy discount!. My CL when new in 2001 was $32,500 if I remember correctly. Not much of a difference.

About a 6% difference. But they are discounting the CL's which makes the difference greater which is what I was trying to hint at. Plus, isn't the MSRP for a G35C 6MT with the Premium and Navigation package in the $36,500 range??

Combine this MSRP compared to a discounted CL-S6 and there could be close to a 20% difference.

STAY AWAY

bro- stay away from demo's. People beat the shit out of these cars, and there is NO WAY it was properly broken in...I would also be especially worried since this is a manual car, who knows what people did when they test drove it. 5k miles....very risky... Put a few G's more down and get a new G35c.

ok ok...let me go through the entire story....
i said it was a dealer demo only to save myself time....in actuality..the car was bought by a woman...early 30's in age....
when the car was brand new....

the story goes..she found out she was pregnant shortly afer that...and once the baby came..she was unable to fit a baby seat in the back....so...she then traded the car in on a BMW X5 at my good friend/neighbor's car dearlership. (thats how i know all this)

this past weekend, he brought it home for me to look at..and now, we are still trying to work out the deal

as for the car being better than the CL-S.....not in every way.

the G35 is more of a "sports coupe" and that is ultimately what i am looking for.
Handling...G35
Acceleration (auto vs. auto)...G35
appearance...G35
interior quality...DRAW...i love the CL-S interior, but the G35's is pretty sweet as well...nothing tops that NAV it has.
Interior space....CL-S..much larger inside (not a true sports coupe)

I love my CL-s and will continue to do so until i have the G35c.

to that. If it wasn't for the lack of space inside the G i''d probably be driving it right now.
