Vinyl CF interior trim?

Has anyone here ever used stuff like this?
http://www.decalfx.com/carbon_3_black_sheets.html

I really don't like the silver plastic interior piece around the gauges in my A4. A real CF trim piece to replace that isn't available, and I was thinking of getting it nicely painted gloss black, and then I saw this vinyl:
http://www.decalfx.com/carbon_3_black_sheets.html

Seems like it looks pretty good, but I'd like to hear some pros and cons. I know it's not real, I don't care. I find the silver too shiny and distracting. Is it possible to wrap it with this stuff and make it look good? Seems like you can wrap this stuff around curvy stuff with a blow dryer.

FYI, this is what the silver around the dials looks like:

It doesn't even match the real brushed aluminium on the doors and center tunnel.

Usually it doesn't wear too well.

I would be afraid that it would peel over time. It's too nice of a car for that. I've never purchased anything from these guys but take a look at this...

you can also "dash kits" for more hits. Shop around. From what I understand all aftermarket dash kits are not created equal.

that looks nice, but for where you want to put it (on your instrument panel) I don't know... I think the intrument panel should be solid, not fabric, and I think this fabric, albeit "cf pattern" still looks very much like fabric.

I would stay away from any gloss CF overlays. Lots of BMW guys have been doing this and it looks very similar to the stock M3 CF trim....

*EDIT* Scroll down on the link I posted to see the pics. I love that look on the 3-series anyway....

It's a plate of trim around the instrument panel. And it doesn't look that great right now, it's basically shiny plastic. It doesn't match my brushed aluminum trim and it's very eye catching. I really want it darker. I'm just curious if there any major downsides to this wrap stuff. Keeping in mind that the only time this area ever gets touched is for the occasional dusting.

They use this stuff, right?
http://www.pyspeed.com/product-p/rd-8001.htm

This is my current pick, seems to look good and it's even cheaper. I guess one downside is that when you spray your original piece with 3M glue, there's no going back.

^ Thanks! Ok so now this 3M DI-NOC stuff looks like the best, since it already comes with adhesive and it looks like it's really easy to wrap... Now I just have to find a place where I can order a fairly small piece for cheap.

IMO if you wrapped the center console and the dash plaque with the same material, it would look pretty nice. But as it is in the "after" ps job it looks like someone half-assed it and got lazy.

I actually think the before looks better. Especially if you have the alum trim already.

The photoshop looks great, but I think the OP would have to cover all of the aluminum pieces to make it look right in the actual car.

I think the aluminum helps accentuate the trim pieces, the CF hides them. It would probably look nicer if the CF was silver like a Carbon Kevlar.

I definitely want to keep the real aluminium trim, and after looking at the chops I'm thinking the CF dash makes the interior too dark. I wonder if there's a brushed aluminium dash piece out there I could get to replace the plastic, and match the rest of the brushed aluminium trim... It's easy to get replacement trim for the A4, but very hard to find replacement for that silver plastic on the dash.

Guys, I've got the Carbon Fiber interior trim kit. I can honestly tell you I really love this mod. It classes up the interior, it looks great and it was definitely money well spent. If you'd like to see my pictures of the Carbon Fiber kit, please go to my garage on Acurazine and see the pictures.

There has been a lot of discussion about these kits....as to whether it's real Carbon Fiber or not. The real stuff is very expensive and not affordable-unless you own a Lamborghini.

But I can personally vouch for this mod. I've had it for a year and a half and would highly recommend this.
