I'd post them but I can't get to them because their site relies on active-x stuff which is blocked here at my work. I haven't taken pictures of my install yet. probably soon.

Ah, the compromises between design and engineering. Have a nice engine cover and retain hood clearance and restrict power output. Or have an less attractive engine bay but retain the power that should be there to begin with.

If I had money to burn I would be getting all_motor's turbo, he would custom tune it for the 3.5L, I would get everything made, custom made, then I would have a custom sleeper ready to blow away some corvettes, vipers, the works.

But no, im broke and in college :/

I think anyone here would love to have something that would blow away, however, when your work is finally done (or install all yourself) its gonna cost close to a corvette. Now we thinking stock corvette, how you know their corvette aint modded?

it goes on and on, we modded more, they mod more, etc etc when does the MONEY end?

ah screw it, ill put the money down for a 10,000 Hp machine, 15,000 lb ft trq and I wont be fully satisfied, because theres always something to do betta!

just some philosophy, when it end?

It ain't pretty, but for 20 hp, who cares. I think I actually like this version better than the chrome one.

The same as everyone else, Mike just had a CL-S which should be refered to as "SuperFreak".

So, $1000 Headers (or $400 for OBX), $300 for the IceBox, $700 for Exhaust, $300 for UR Pulleys. That's $2300 - now these guys have an argument vs. the $4500 S/C. Otherwise... everybody just enjoy what you buy and stop complaining!!

Actually Mike had less than that from what I recall, at least not the UR pullies.

realize that Reds car would pull away from Mike the same way he did from me.

we all know where we're at when it comes to available mods for the cl-s. once you have i/h/e/p and light wheels, the next step is either n2o or s/c.

you gotta pay if you wanna play.

I would bet a 75 shot on a well tuned N/A ride would yield good gains, and possibly even a faster time. As you can stage the N20 power for your available traction.

IMO $4500 for the little FWHP gain isn't worth it.

I would expect $4500 of mods to RUN, not walk away...
especially with F/I

You for sure pulled away, but it was a slow walk.

I've been drag racing all sorts of cars for probably close to 10 years now.

I also have owned a bunch of Camaros & TA's. Which $4500 goes a lot further. This is probably why I don't see the practicality in it... speed vs. money anyway...

And /w CT headers... $5500...

Just my .02c feel free to give me my change back.
I see what you're saying there Siggy. What i like best about the SC is the daily driveability and response. I can't speak for others, but my dealer did the install and i'm covered, i know that's not the case with nitrous !! The other thing is there will be ways to get more power shortly via the ECU upgrade etc. Hey, to each his own, some people spend thousands on stereo equipment and DVD players that further weigh the car down, what do i know

You nailed it, nothing left to do that makes this kind of power with potential for more with the ECU upgrade

i'd say that's true near 100% but there are small variances and mikes car is a little stronger than most...but dont leave out the 3.5 as an alternative....i really dont wanna sound like im tooting my own horn , but one trap of 102 and several at 101 with a 13.7 best 50* 50% if i remember though good weather not perfect...and this is with stock wheels and no pulley and stock exhaust...i really believe with the wheels the pulley the exhaust, and some possible tuning there is a real low 13 here...i mean real low 13.1 .2@ 104-5

That was headers and intake only. I'll dig up the old dyno chart unless Nashua or TypeR want to post it.

btw, I hadn't bought the SSRs yet.

Btw, I raced Ronnie0738 a couple of times when my car was stock and he had h/i. if I remember correctly he didn't start to walk me until ~80-85.

Actually, I only had CT headers when we raced and I started to pull on Mike soon after I hit 3rd gear.

Unless you pull sub 1.8s 60-foots, you need 107-108mph to hit a 13.1 given the weight of our CL-S. 107-108mph on a car of our weight is around 310whp.

The M3 launched well (sub 2.0s 60-foots) pulls 13.4s E.T's @ 106mph. It makes 280+ whp I believe.

I can totally understand a 13.78 or whatever that you ran @ 101-102mph - it hooked and your car makes power. A 13.1 is VERY difficult unless you somehow extract 40-50 more hp.

If it is making 4whp more and weighs the same, why would it pull away that hard??

the 3.5 is a great alternative, but it wasn't available when Glenn had his s/c installed. and i know he had his mind set on the charger long before that. i also know that he was concerned with keeping his warrantee intact.

i personally would love to have the 3.5 conversion.

It's faster, no it's got more HP . . . it's faster . . . more HP . . . .

suddenly they throw open their doors and get after it . .

so would this make a great car commercial?

who said Glenn dyno'd at 240 whp?

i guarantee if you dyno'd both cars on the same dyno 1 after another there would be much more than a 4 whp difference.
