I'd take the trans am over the supra too.

are you sure about that one? besides the fact the supra will handle and brake much better than the trans am, (not to mention the build quality), power wise the supra should be alot easier to achieve the most gains with.
the 2jzge is a gem of a motor, one of a kind. its something that we will probably never see again. they have been known to handle up to 8-900 bhp on the stock block. and this is all on a 3.0 v6
i bet the trans am can launch better, but in the end, i would take the supra turbo engine over almost any other turbo'd engine out there (with the exception of allmotor's!

Gimme the Supra.
The Supra was running low boost and was on pump gas. Up the boost and put some race gas in and its bye bye WS6. Big single turbo Supra > * on the highway.

the only replacement for displacement is FI. but once you strap a turbo on the bigger motor, that advantage is gone.

The Supra was running 21psi on 91oct w/ a Meth Inj. 21psi, are you kidding me? He still got crushed. If it takes for a Supra to run race gas just to catch up to a WS6 Turbo, someone needs to rebuild something on that engine. The WS6 Turbo was running 13psi w/ 93oct.

I'm confused as to why people think a well modded turbo WS6 cant take down a heavily modded Supra. I've been seeing boosted TAs, Z28s and even Stangs running low 11s and 10s back when the Supra was still in MKII mode. Heck, even the stock 03-04 SVT Cobra shows you what a little boost can do for an already powerful V8.

first, you are VERY mistaken about the capabilities of the trans am, 2nd the 2jz is an I6

there is no replacement for displacement, when you add some boost it's even better

actually, no. Turbo cars are nitorious for getting wicked power from exhaust mods alone while NA cars aren't
