I don 't get it. Why did the Supra keep trying? That TTA was pulling on him hard every time.

Nice Vid. But, I'd rather drive a slow Supra than a fast Trans Am any day.

Jeez every single time the WS6 just said to the Supra.

That thing has to be putting down an insane amount of power at 13psi.

are you sure about that one? besides the fact the supra will handle and brake much better than the trans am, (not to mention the build quality), power wise the supra should be alot easier to achieve the most gains with.

the 2jzge is a gem of a motor, one of a kind. its something that we will probably never see again. they have been known to handle up to 8-900 bhp on the stock block. and this is all on a 3.0 v6
i bet the trans am can launch better, but in the end, i would take the supra turbo engine over almost any other turbo'd engine out there (with the exception of allmotor's!

Gimme the Supra.
The Supra was running low boost and was on pump gas. Up the boost and put some race gas in and its bye bye WS6. Big single turbo Supra > * on the highway.

the 2jz is a I6, and it's an amazing I6. but it is by turbo v8's.

the only replacement for displacement is FI. but once you strap a turbo on the bigger motor, that advantage is gone.

Not true. The WS6 V8 doesn't handle boost as well as the 2jzge. In a highway race give me a APU Supra running high boost on race gas vs anything on the road.

^what's the likelihood you will have a Supra running race gas on the highway and you come across a WS6 that's ready to run?...very unlikely. Give me the WS6 turbo.

Very likely, I live in the Supra capitol of the USA, Texas. Down here especially in Houston there are tons of Supras that ride around with race gas especially on weekends.

The Supra was running 21psi on 91oct w/ a Meth Inj. 21psi, are you kidding me? He still got crushed. If it takes for a Supra to run race gas just to catch up to a WS6 Turbo, someone needs to rebuild something on that engine. The WS6 Turbo was running 13psi w/ 93oct.

I don't buy that for a second. No way he was running 21psi no fucking way! A single turbo pushing 21 PSI should be making atleast 550 to 650 whp and would walk away with ease. The Supra in that video was probably a auto BPU making around 400 whp.

I'm confused as to why people think a well modded turbo WS6 cant take down a heavily modded Supra. I've been seeing boosted TAs, Z28s and even Stangs running low 11s and 10s back when the Supra was still in MKII mode. Heck, even the stock 03-04 SVT Cobra shows you what a little boost can do for an already powerful V8.

first, you are VERY mistaken about the capabilities of the trans am, 2nd the 2jz is an I6

run a 3.0L w/ a T88 at 20psi it won't even be close to a 5.7L w/ a T88 at 20 psi

not only that but you could spend half as much on a full exhaust and get twice the power you would in a supra...

actually, no. Turbo cars are nitorious for getting wicked power from exhaust mods alone while NA cars aren't
