Your thread =

Sir, the G35 is an amazingly selling car and has been the driving force behind Infiniti's revival. Shame on you.

Looking at the original photo, my opinion is that somebody was way too sloppy applying that stuff, and the process needs better quality control since the end result shows that it's out of control. As a manufacturing/QA engineer I wouldn't accept that even on a $15k car...it doesn't cost more to do a better job than that and I can easily make a case that a properly controlled process would even cost less due to less wasted material, better/optimum coverage, better customer satisfaction.

Are you seriously responding to the OP's post? Considering the nature of rust-proofing application that the pic shows, manufacturing/QA has NOTHING to do with it because all manufacturing and quality checks are already done by the time this is applied (at dealer or other place WAY down the line from manufacture). Further, you bring up "properly controlled process"...uh, for all we know this could have been applied by the owner on his driveway with his car up on ramps, or a 3rd party crappy dealer applying it on a used car to up his profit. Obviously there was NO "properly controlled process", so even an IMPROPERLY controlled process would probably produce better results. Further, we are taking the OP's word that this is even a G35...for all we know it could be from an '83 Ford.

Basically what I'm saying is that the OP's post has a picture of "gunk", nothing else. His post does not deserve any serious response.

I'll wager that it was done aftermarket, by a dealer and not Infiniti.

To the OP, yeah Infiniti/NNA is reallllly hurting right now.

Go climb a tree. And fall out.

I sure don't accept that.

All this ranting about the OP ...I don't know him, maybe he's an asshole maybe not...I don't really care. I'm focusing on the general automotive question: is that acceptable workmanship/quality? ...for me it's not.

Its not, but it was likely an aftermarket procedure. There is no way that gets past any mass manufacturer's QA department.

And if you pay for undercoating at a dealer you deserve what you get.

Vbx isn't that bad, is he?? I know OP's thought process regarding this thread was lacking, but it's not like his specialty is posting completely moronic threads everywhere, is it? :looksaroundforOpi:

Well, hence I changed the title for ONLY this thread of his.

However, his blog is also a flying mess and pure comedy.
