Don't get an auto. You'll get better at driving a stick. It just takes practice. BTW, the 95's are 3.0 liters. They increased the displacement in the 97 models, but never produced a 96. I'd try and find a 97.

If you want to get the biggest performance gains, and would like to do more mods, go with the 95. If you are going to leave it mostly stock you may want to go with a newer model.

I have owned several BMW's and I currently own a 95 manual that I have for sale. I would never think of driving a BMW that was an automatic. You will learn to shift with practice, so if you do go with an M3 make it a manual for sure.

Someone else posted a similar question a few weeks ago. If you want to know more about the M3 E-36, post some more questions.

In my experience from driving both cars, my CL S is a better daily driver, and surely better in the winter.

By the way, if you buy a BMW are you going to sell your Acura? If you are, don't.

Trust me. Don't get 95-97 E36 M3. Way too much problems. You'll spend more moeny and time fixing it than driving it. 98-99 E36 M3s are the slowest. They add like side air bags, head rest for back seat and all the crap that you don' t need.

If your budget is around $20k, get a used NSX, VR4 or WRX.

I think he makes half of this shit up....

Everybody knows that the 99 M3 was the quickest of the second generation M3. And I'm not just saying that because I owned one

Side airbags were optional, not required equipment.

And the rear headrests don't weigh shit.

lol, then can you explain why 99 M3 is faster? Hmmm...Probably that sticker on your car gives you extra 25hp.

Sure I can.....and I'll do it just as soon as you explain why a 99 M3 is slower. And don't tell me because of the 2lb rear headrests.

hahahaha.... believe me, I'm not topdaytrader.

I've read a few of his posts, and I usually disagree with most of his opinions.....

topdaytrader is unreliable info from everything ive read.
While i dont personally own a bmw, my dad does and i lived with it for a while. It had its fair share of problems, but it was a great car and was very well thought out and put together. auto would be totally gay. so gay it could suck a golf ball through a garden hose (great movie). our bmw's gearbox is awsome, drive great!

I wouldn't want an NSX with 125k on it
