That's such a beautiful blue OP. But on the note of the cel, have you refilled lately? My car would throw cels over gas all the time and when i put the exhaust and HFC it just made it worse. I did find a fix for the HFC having a permanent code though

Thanks broham! As I've said earlier in this thread, it was Nogaro or bust. I love how it pops in the sunlight.

And yeah, I haven't filled it for probably 2 1/2 weeks. I'm running a stock cat & a Comptech catback ... but I'm starting to think it's the primary O2 sensor because the secondary has already been replaced

Either way, running codes this afternoon. I'm sure it's minor.

Is the primary a wideband O2 sensor? If so, make sure you have lube available for when you go to buy it.

Does the S come with a wideband sensor stock? I thought most, if not all, factory O2's are narrow band because the range is well defined with the stock ECU programming.

I'm guessing primary means pre-cat O2.

No, I'm poor AF (or at least that's how the wife makes me feel ) and I don't even have a B5 S4 as an excuse.

Speaking of being poor AF.

I cannot wait for the next wave of mods ... I'm thinking high flow cats (Maybe no cats .. just to stick it to the man), full 3" exhaust all the way back, and most importantly a Stage 2 tune.

Based on what the interwebs told me, it should be around 300whp / 350wtq ..

Keep it reliable...
slow the fuck down on your mods. Get to know your car before you start changing so much that you won't know what the problem is when you run into one.

While I agree further familiarizing myself with the car is a good idea, Stage 2 (300whp) is not a crazy expectation for the 2.7T itself. Forged internals ... just gotta make sure the tune has good timing / AFR

Don't worry J, I got this

Nailed it, I had 2 codes.

P1456 Evap Fuel System Leak (gas cap )

P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) - I replaced the cat with a used OEM unit roughly 6 months ago.. maybe the material already shifted and busted my secondary O2 sensor?

Either way, not super critical ... I cleared the codes and will see if they come back. If so, the S is going on stands this weekend

Speaking of which...need to have that CNT racing HFC re-welded.
And my wife is working from home tomorrow, so I can drive the S!

Dude... get the OEM wheels.

At 300/350, you should be good pretty content as that is PLENTY of power to get you from point A to B.

Although I don't disapprove of the boost gauge, we all agree your funds are better spent else where... i.e OEM wheels & flapping headliner fabric!

If only there was a way of making the OEM wheels wider ... 7.5" is just plain sad.

Mods, can you please update the thread title to: "Tyler's Owdi B5 S4 Build & Update(s) Thread"

Thanks!

Whoa, my bad!! I thought he was talking about the S4.. if that was the case, I'd imagine a FI car to have a wideband sensor. Actually, the NC Miata, in stock form, has a wideband too. The more you know!

I'm actually meeting up with him on Sunday afternoon, doing a drive through Iddywild with my local car club and meeting him in Fontana afterwards

A professional photoshoot will follow! Probably in 2 weeks time.
