turbo commuter - bad idea?

I am trying to "strategize" my next car purchase(s). Part of that includes some turbos like the RDX, audi, and 2008 TSX. My question/ problem is, is it dumb to consider a turbo where I commute 100 miles a day?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Is that mostly highway? If so then you would be fine. You wouldnt be reving high enough to be pushing the turbo much when crusing in a higher gear. Most likely you would be under boost so the turbo would be hardly doing any work.

Better on gas mileage that way too.

yes, largely highway. traffic comes to occasional dead stops.

Turbo shouldn't provide any issues so long as you're not revving the crap out of it at every opportunity.

if it's a gas milage concern, you'll still get better milage with a turbo four than a 8 cyl or most 6 cyls

Buy a 199# beater for like $800, and save the turbo for spirited driving.

Unhappy

buying an expensive car and not driving it seems pointless. I would prefer to spend 2+ hours a day in a nice car, not a beater.
