Display came, no function kinda cements the harness as the root cause.

Hopefully it comes tomorrow.

It is. 104 now & it "only" got up to 114 today.

No harness Monday I guess.

On another note, the nearest e85 station was out, I went to one 20 miles away & it was 2.99 a gallon. Was still 1/2 the price of filling the Tundra.

I just mostly stay inside.

It's overcast, 97 and a little humid.

Forecast calls for no rain.

I can't even remember the last time I saw an E85 station here in N Houston.
The closest E0 station [92 octane] is about an hour away & it's nearly $1 more than 93 E10.

There are several here, I'm figuring out which are ok, the last one sucked. Been getting cel lean & have used 1/2 a tank on 87 miles. & it was .70 cents a gallon more (2.29 vs 2.99)

Wait, e85 was more than premium?

You will get less mpg compared to premium. E85 has less energy. I would average around 23mpg mixed on 93 and around 17-18 on e85. But e85 was also about $1.40 less per gallon.

The first tank it was 2.29, while premium was just under 3. The second tank was 2.99 & premium was 3.12. All the prices at the second station were whacked out, its a Valero I would never go to otherwise & never will go to again.

Also, now I'm getting this cel:

The harness Is finally out for delivery, I hope it solves the issues.

There is an Az. e85 FB group, they say this station has 90% and is "legit" Just for asking the question is the gas bad I started a shitstorm like they all own the station and I said it was bad.

You mentioned that the harness is being replaced - is the ECU seeing the E85 content?

It seems the module was not the issue. I got the OLED display & it does nothing so seems the module is not being powered. I sent Zach logs and he said the ECU is not seeing the module or methane but his tune has protections and it is ok.

Hopefully, the harness resolves the issue.

If the module wasn't reading ethanol content and the ecu wasn't either, that's why you are lean issues. The ECU was expecting 93.

Now that everything is talking, it should be good. I'd probably pull the battery for 30 mins or reflash to reset the fuel trims and clear the CELs.

The car was running great, just after the second tank started throwing the cel. I would clear it, no problem until the next start.

I just sent Zack logs.

Morgan, can you school me on the 17+ red intake & Crawford (or eBay) spacers?

Is the aluminum intake better/worth 2-350? Are the spacers like the single throttle body spacer on the CL? I see people/reviews that say Crawford is good none are good & snake oil.
Also, ones that say the Crawford is good say knock offs are bad. Seems unlikely.

Thanks

That first tank was most likely diluted with 93, so the car wasn't freaking out. But if the ECU was expecting 93 on the second tank, the ECU wasn't dumping enough fuel, which is why you got the lean condition.

The red manifold? It's been a while since I paid any attention, but early reviews made it seem like the red intake was a better part compared to the plastic intake. I'd suggest asking Zach what his thoughts are on it and if the gains are worth the cost. Keep in mind that if you end up getting something like the Edelbrock supercharger, that replaces the intake manifold.

For spacers, I'm sure it manipulates the powerband. Whether its good or bad is unknown to me. I would venture a guess that it's not worth the install for whatever gains you may see, as I can't imagine they'd be large gains.

Thanks, Zach looked at the logs & verified the flex kit is good now. Hopefully, the CEL goes away.

I will ask Zack about the intake. The car feels pretty good now, I might leave it alone (after the header) I have the sways out for delivery, shocks & springs in the garage and arm rest coming Friday.

It's still stupid hot ("only" 97 right now) but getting over 114 daily, too ho for me to be in the garage.

Soooooo after verifying all is well I disconnected & ran the oled cable behind, under and into the "dongle" and NADA, back to dead. Literally had to disconnect/reconnect & fiddle around with it until it came back on. WTF???

Zach said Aluminum intake yes, spacers no. Looking for a used intake but it's "only" 350 new from numerous discount dealers.

Car is running really nicely, 0& Firestone refused to open the closed store so I contacted the shippers, explained they were misappropriated and unavailable to me and after numerous arguments got them to agree to go after Firestone & return the money. I decided, for now, I'll just do tires so I got the GT's that were suggested and it feels like a different car.

There are ones that cover the whole console & open to the passenger side, I want to be able to use the cup holder and am concerned I'd break it off.

That's probably my biggest pet peeve about the twins, why the hell it doesn't have an armrest from the factory. Especially with my 2014.

My car had:
  • Alcantara+leather heated seats
  • Navigation
  • Dual zone climate control
  • Smart keyless/push start

What it didn't have:
  • CarPlay/Android Auto
  • armrest
  • a fucking real place to put my sunglasses
