5 pages in ... and the conclusion is that the CTS-V is an ugly whore or something
Next guy to post a "what car should I buy" thread should be banned and forced to scoop elephant shiit the rest of his days. What the hell happened to Car Talk?

I really like both but I would probably go for Option #2.

Oh damn, I didn't even see the price. If you're willing to drop that much change, wait for the new M5.

if a sedan isnt a must, why 85k on a 5 series? 85k could get you a preowned exotic. (not the smartest decision financially, but it seems like youre willing to pay for what you desire). hell, you could be sitting in a preowned aston martin by now.

In my budget, a preowned Aston would be still be a few years old and out of warranty.

Okay. Just wanted to update this thread. I have been super busy. Despite what I said above, the hoopla finally got to me. Here's a pic of what I will be test driving tomorrow:
I only like it because it is the special Diamond edition and it looks nicer to me than a regular cts-v.
I didn't care much for the dealership though. The sales guy did bold face lie to me, but at least I get to test drive the thing tomorrow.
It will either be this or a 550xi with the following options:
Carbon Black/Oyster/Black Dakota Leather
Convenience
Drive Assistance
Cold Weather
M Sport
Premium 2
Split Fold Down Seats
Heads Up Display
Side and Top View Cameras
You can build it on bmw's website if you want to see what it looks like.

Okay here is my review..
The Caddy is definitely a monster on the road. But the car was missing..something. It is hard for me to describe; the car didn't plaster a grin on my face.
It felt...cheap...low build quality...noisy. It also wasn't as comfortable as my E60; I don't think I could do a long distance cruise (or long traffic jam) in it.
I first drove the Diamond Edition pictured above (at Sarant Cadillac in Farmingdale) but the dealer low balled me so badly on my 550i and told me it's the best anyone would be able to get ($6500 below Manheim price) that I was completely offended and left the dealership.
I then went back to the original dealer (who wouldn't let me drive without a deposit) and this sales(lady) took me out for a second spin in the car where she drove. (So no deposit necessary)
She did a few 0-60 runs (yes 3.9s is def accurate) and a few rolling starts. The car gave me whiplash and it smelled like burnt rubber and brakepads at the end.
They gave me my asking price on my trade in, and gave me a very competitive price on it, but I really wasn't sure at that point.
I need to go take a new 550 for another test drive.
