It makes sense to go electric for running around town, but the whole hybrid thing is a bunch of $hit. As others have stated, the car will not last forever, and the batteries are an ecological nightmare.
But some people feel good as the drive over to the Whole Foods store and by $10 apples, proudly making an "environmental statement".

1st gen was bland. I dont the current gen is bland at all. There is no mistaking that its a prius when you see it. No other car looks like it, and it has a nice design. I actually like how they look.
