Top Gear's fourth episode to pit Nissan GT-R against Japanese bullet train

-Autoblog.com

We first got wind of another epic Top Gear race back in May when Jeremy Clarkson announced that this season would feature a race against a Japanese bullet train. At the time, it wasn't announced what vehicle would be in the race, but we were convinced it would be the Nissan GT-R. We guessed correctly. Today in Andy Wilman's blog, the TG producer gave a preview of the fourth episode and confirmed that the GT-R would be facing off against the bullet train this Sunday. Wilman also reveals that the races are shot in real time, and that the winner is not predetermined. The race will take up a full half hour of the show, though we wouldn't mind if it took up even more.

^^ Torrents FTW. THe new episodes get loaded onto YouTube but get taken off right away, BBC seem to be very efficient in terms of filing for copy right violation.

On a pertinent note, just finished watching the episode and boy what a race . Kind of pissed off that the track day/info wont air till later in the season

Oh sweet mother they tested the Alfa 8C didn't they? I'm getting it right now ... Can't wait to watch.

Anyone know where we can d/l older episodes? I've started saving them but I've only got about 10 random episodes from Series 8 to current.

Great ep. I loved the race.

Damm I need to go to Japan.

Have been planning to go for three years, but having a little guy has put a crimp in planning.

this Sunday's episode the Stig takes the GT-R to their (usual) track in the UK. I don't want to spoil it, but if anyone's interested, the results is posted (supposedly) somewhere on the internet

I'm torn. I want to know but I guess I'll wait.

And Nigel Mansell lost out to the Stig by .2 seconds in the Lacetti. I'm surprised he hasn't been back to try and beat him

a friend of mine was actually there when they were testing the Veyrons. he took a picture of the cars from a distance. what he didn't realize was that it was the Top Gear time driving them. don't worry, we laughed at him endlessly.

Jeez, we're Americans, we can handle Jeremy's occasional anti-American car rant. Besides, I forgive him because he's an S2000 fan, and because he's just so fscking funny.

Yup, British series are only 8-10 episodes.

Which is why you see Hampster doing BBC specials on how the French Resistance's use of frying pans turned the tide on D-Day.

Torrent the old episodes!
