Title doesn't matter. They are the same car, end of story.

They are only badged differently for the markets they are sold in.

They are built on the exact same assembly line in the exact same plant at the exact same time as one another.

They share the same engines, they are exactly the same length, width, & height for each model & transmission equipped. Hell, for all we know, they could be shipped from Japan with Skyline badges on them & then swapped at the port. The only difference between the cars is the available options, which again, depends on the market they are sold in.

BUT, since you seem to stand for the side that they are not the same car, then you must have some sort of evidence or something that leads you to this besides "Because I say so". And titles don't mean shit. There are folks out there who register Skyline GT-Rs in the US as Nissan 240sx models & only an idiot car enthusiast would believe otherwise.

That's awesome. I think the owners who change badges are dbags. I'm entitled to that opinion.

Clear?

Depends on the badge, I suppose. I won't say 100% of people who do a certain thing would qualify under a certain label, but first impressions might steer me in that direction.

I reserve the right to change my mind.

First - I'm Switzerland in this argument, I don't really care either way. But...

Second - I have a question: With regard to the G37/Skyline debate, what differences do you perceived between the two cars, aside from the badging?

if someone takes a V6 Mustang and puts GT badging all over it, thats douchebag. if its the same exact car and you switch to the JDM version? that is just personalizing the vehicle to your taste!

Just the badge. To me, it's lying. I don't care that they are built in the same plant with the same specs (FTR, I never denied this. My comment was to the opinion about the owners). If you're lying about the car, what else are you lying about? Could be in the way it's presented, though.

Body kits I get. I don't get rebadging.

Had a few kids come in with 'badge-engineered' cars in the day, and in fact they were all douchebags. Perhaps it's flavored my opinion?

I like the G. I really do. I almost bought a 35C before I bought the TL. Never said I had anything against the car.

A long time ago in another life I was a lube jock.

Well, technically, I managed the lube jocks. Apparently there's a lot of room for promotion if you don't get high at work.

If you can't answer a reason as to why you come to that conclusion, I'll just chalk it up to ignorance.

Have a nice day.

Not really. Just when they were done tackily. Of course, we had fairly high standards with our own vehicles.

My issue is not that they are the same car, just that it's stupid to debadge and rebadge if they are the SAME car. Why? Just so you can be cool and call your G37 a SKYLINE here in the USA?

The reality is who give a fuck either way

But at least you have a real answer behind why you don't like it.

tried to find the :whogivesafuck: smiley and couldn't (where did it go?)

Same applies like I said to Acura and Inspire.
In the end, who really does give a shit. It's a personal taste and to each their own.

G is a 2+2, Z is strictly a 2 seater + the G is supposed to be a "luxury" coupe...just playing devil's advocate here - they appeal to different buyers...

The argument isnt between the Z and the G, but the USDM G and the JDM Skyline.

Nobody ever compared the G to the Z in this thread.
