TLS too fast!!

Why buy a TLS when the speed limit is like 55mph in NY? I recently gotten a ticket last week, please see this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...814&highlight=

And this morning I realize a cop was tailgating my ass for like 5 miles. Needlessly to say I wasn't speeding, just barely going over 62mph. Driving that speed felt too slow for me and I really want to go a little faster. I will be satisfy if I can get away with 80mph. Anyway, it got me thinking that if the cops are so anal in giving out tickets, I really don't need to own this car. Maybe a slow Prius or Honda fit will suffice. Maybe I should move to somewhere like florida where the speed limit is like 70 - 75mph. That way I can at least let the car rip a little bit. Sorry for a useless post, but I just wanted to share.

OK. Thanks for the useless post.

I'm sure a lot of us feel that way about our cars. Hell, I hit 85 this morning on my way in and it felt like I was doing 60. I pulled around a slow car and sped past him at 85 without the transmission even shifting. I love having power when I need it. So for me....NO to the Fit or Prius.

A car only goes as fast as the operator presses the gas pedal. Sounds like someone has more of a problem being told how fast he can drive rather then having to keep his rocket ship of a car in check. Nine times out of ten when a car goes blowing by me on the highway, its some 15 year old shit box that my car would walk all over, and my car is far from what I would define as fast, so I don't think this problem is the car as much as the driver.

As for speed limits, its based on the lowest common denominator, as long as there are old, poorly maintained cars on the roads, driven by careless, uninformed drivers I think speed limits will remain where they are for some time. Not everyone drives a new car and not everyone knows how to drive a car faster, I'm convinced most don't know how to drive their cars slow.

Technically that is speeding by law.
