Thats too broad of a question... what are you looking for in a car? Speed? Handling? Comfort? Interior? Moddability? Affordability? Gas mileage? There's easily dozens of things that YOU look for in a car, you just need to let us know what.

My opinion.... well I would get a TSX 6 speed because I need to have a reliable gas saver, plus it needs to have good handling and be fun to drive. Speed wise I don't really care about but it does have some room to be modded. But I would probably get one in PWP/Ebony (white with black interior). Just my opinion though, that doesn't mean you should get a white w/ black interior 6MT TSX....

How would you answer the question:

What should I get, an E55 AMG or a Lotus Exige? What do you guys think is better?

I don't know if you are being sarcastic. but track = lotus, highway rocket = E55 AMG.

I personally would get TL because its faster.

Should I get a TL or SLK55 AMG?

Seriously though, there are too many subtle differences that you really will have to be moer specific with your question or know what you want. Otherwise the brochures on www.acura.com have all the info you need to make your own choice.

Think about what you need in a car. Both the TL and TSX have their respective advantages.

TL = more room, more engine power; more luxury? (doors feel more solid than the TSX ... mine sounds a little 'tinny' when I close it)

TSX = lighter, more nimble driving; better fuel economy; easier to park; Japanese built (build quality better?)

So in a nutshell... if you want a grocery getter / short commuter -- get the TSX. If you want to go travelling / pack a lot of stuff or intend to have to take a lot of people in the car... TL.

TSX is supposed to be more fun to drive since it's the European accord...with that european feel and stuff. TL is targeted to people who want a good balance of everything...as in good power, good performance, good handling, better than average luxury. Seriously, you won't go wrong with any of them. I drive a 02 TL-S (it's white with tan interior..exactly what you want!) and it's plenty fast for what it is and pretty good on gas, especially on the hwy, not to mention its handling is not bad. I've the chance to drive the TSX as a loaner and its power is definitely less than the TL, but surprisingly, its fuel mileage is marginally better than a TL according to various sources. Nonetheless, it is a very fun to drive car, and I think it looks better than my car.

What year of TL/TSX are you looking for?

Wow, we might be banning our first 50+ year old member. Cool.

Anyway, apolon21... if you have nothing further to add other then the same thing over and over, don't bother hitting the reply button. And if you really believe most of what you're typing, you need to get out more.

To the OP... you're talking two different cars here. If you can reply with what you are looking for specifically we can help you further.

ok, I think those are enough responses to this tool.

Let's keep it on topic (TL or TSX) so this guy (the OP) gets an answer and doesn't get another attempt at help locked....

i am the proud owner of an 06 tsx-i do alot of traveling-went on a recent 6,177 mile road trip thru 20 states-excellant comfortable riding car with very good gas mileage. I travel from nc to nj and back every few weeks and the only complaints I have is the lousy paint that chips easy and the foglights that crack. My tsx is manual transmission w/ nav-highly recommend that. do not know anything about the tl-was not that interested in it-to each their own. My tsx is 8 months old, bought new, with 21,000+ miles

Thanks for all the replies.
What im specifically looking for in terms of the TL and TSX is interior space. Is the interior space a big difference between the two cars?

Power. Is the extra 60 or 70 hp between the two cars a big difference? what are their 0-60 times? 1/4 mi. times and passing power on the highway?

Luxuries. They both seem to have exactly the same options when ive been looking. I prefer one with nav, but since im looking for a used one, they are rare. and im looking for an automatic, gf will be driving car too.

To me, they both look good, but the TSX is lacking some oomph in the looks department especially since i dont plan on modding it or anything. But is it worth it to spend the extra few G's for the TL when i get get a watered down version in looks for the tsx.

Gas mileage isnt that big of a problem because they both seem pretty similiar. and neither is handling, i dont plan on taking it to the track or anything like that.

One last thing, how much is your insurance per month? tell me how old are you and which part of the US do you live in or Cananda or whervers... Thanks for your help

scratch that about not modding it. I maybe upgrading the wheels to 18"s or 19"s. Would i need to drop it? is there an unsightly wheel gap? Whats the widest tire width you can get?

You need to get in the cars and drive them for yourself first!

For measurements, compare in: http://autos.msn.com/default.aspx
The TL is larger in the back seat, but that difference wasn't significant to me.

See http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
There is a large difference by butt dynamometer (in feel), too.

Get a TL then. I was considering a 6M TSX when the wife said she would prefer that I get an auto. The auto TSX greatly mutes the responsiveness of the TSX and slows down its acceleration.

For insurance premiums, you should do a search of the TSX and 3G TL threads to see what different drivers pay.

G/L!

alright, let's tackle all of your questions one by one!

1.) Interior space - some little background of the TSX and TL first. TSX is the European/Japanese Accord, while the TL is a glorified version of the American Accord. So there's an obvious difference between the size and space between the two cars. Honda wouldn't make 2 different versions of accord if they are about the same size.

2.) Yes, you can definitely feel the difference in hp and torque. Like I've said, I have driven both and the TL feels a whole lot faster. Let me put it this way, I always have to be careful with the gas pedal with the TL to prevent tire screeching. 0-60 and 1/4mile times depend on 6MT or 5AT. For 6MT, tsx can do 0-60 in around 7.4s, and 1/4 mile in 15.7s (from Car and Driver). TL 6MT (non type s) can do the same in 5.7s and 14.2s respectively. I guess just add around 0.5s to the times if you are talking about AT. Passing on the hwy though, both cars should do fine, as long as you keep the rpm up in the TSX, while that's not necessary with the TL.

3.) Luxury - basically, both cars are pretty much fully loaded. They simply have everything you need: HID, sunroof, power everything, leather interior, alloy wheels, nice audio system, power seats, optional navi and the list goes on. However, the TL still has some extra features that the TSX doesn't have. For example, DVD audio system and active noise cancellation are some examples. I am sure salesmen can tell you more on this. Quality wise, both cars are very good.

4.) Looks - I actually like the TSX more than the TL when it comes to appearance. But thats just personal preference. TL, however, does look more aggressive.

5.) Others - gas mileage, like you've said, are similar. I live in Vancouver, Canada and I am 20. Lastly, price, if you are on a budget, then get the TSX. If you are moving up from like a 4 cylinder camry, the power of the TSX is plenty enough. If you are coming from a V6 sedan, then I guess the TL suits you better.

Hope this can help you!

PS: if you are planning to upgrade your wheels, then beware that an increase in size would reduce your performance.

I know what your going thru, but after the wife insist that I drive both of them, then you will realize that the TL-S in auto is the best of all the world ( IMHO) auto=easy to drive in traffic, paddle shifting=when you want better control good luck, just drive both and you will know what's right for you.

you can also get 400+ miles per tank in the TL too, but that's mostly hwy driving. Check out the government website as well as some reliable source for fuel economy.
