TL vs. TSX

I want to trade my '01 CL-S for either an '04 TL or '04 TSX(either w/o navi). Either would be approx. same payment for me, I am leaning towards TL (bigger, faster, etc.), but TSX is Japan built (um, just better). Please tell me which I should choose and why. Thanks all!

Tough call.

will you be able to handle the power loss coming from a CL-S?

TL made in Ohio, TSX made in Japan. Seems like a easy decision to me.

TSX if you can deal with less power (or just get the SC for it if you want extra grunt).

I think that and the size is why the TL will win out, but I notice the consensus seemed consistant with my original post. Thanks to all who posted an opinion, and I'll let you know what I end up with!

TL > TSX.
I need more room and more power. Ohio made still runs great. No problems whatsoever.

as a fellow NBP CLS owner, i advise you to go with the 3G TL. believe me, it's for your own good.

This shouldn't factor into your decesion whatsoever. Having owned 2 04 TSX's believe me when I tell you, if this is Japanese build quality at its best I'd rather have something built in China.

I like both. I've driven the TSX a couple times when my CL was in the shop. The loss of power sucks, but overall it's a fun car. Handles great. I thought the TL is a really nice, sylish car. Good power and room, but I thought it handles worse than the TSX.

Personally, I'd take the TL. But, you can't go wrong with either...up to you...

Comming out of a CL, you will probably find a TL a better fit. However, the TSX is a blast to drive with somewhat less power. Both are fantastic choices.

the TL is just a better car in general.

TL has more power, more luxurious stuff, more room, and i kind of like the looks of a 3G TL better than a TSX.

The only drawback, TL doesn't handle as well, and it's more expensive. But if you say they'll be about the same price, go with the TL.

It's much easier to make a car handle better than making a car more powerful.

Get a used 05 RL instead, best of both worlds, as fast an Ohio built TL and Made in Japan quality of the TSX.

Get a TL, then spend $100 get a stiffer rear sway bar, the handling discrepancy will be vastly improved.

Go with the TL. The ride in the TSX isn't as nice and feels like a civic.

Here come the TL snobs threatened by the TSX and resort to calling it a Civic.

Then the RL owners will come in here and say the TL is just a disguised Accord.

No, all 3 are based off the same Accord platform. Unless you drive a TL, then the TSX is based off the Civic platform.

Yeah probably one of the reasons why it isn't selling that well. Imagine 3 Acura models all based off Accords?

This may be the wrong place to ask this, but is Acura ever going to offer a V6 option in the TSX??

Yes, it's about a 5000$ option and they call it the TL.

Well, to be specific, the TL is based off the North American Accord, while the TSX is based off the smaller JDM/European accord.

Which are both variations of the same global midsize platform. The difference is primarily in the front and rear subframes.

Yup, they are all related. I guess my point was that the TL is closer to the USDM accord than the TSX is.

Yikes, lets hope not. Weight distribution would be all out of wack than it already is.

They need the RDX motor in the tsx.

I'm regretting my 2005 TSX...It took about 4 months. I've been searching ebay, autotrader, certified cars, and craigslist for a used g35, 330i, or TL all with navi.

I'm an idiot for believing an i4 slow ass car with a badass intereior qualifies for a luxury car...

u can't just have one part...man sucks. Any TL owners want a TSX? straight up trade... 05 with navi and 13k miles for any 05 or 04 with navi and <30k miles

RL needs its own platform... TL and TSX off the Accord platform is okay for now...

and, personally I'd take a TSX... just hondata and a few mods and you've got 200whp from what I've read...
