Apec mod the RL... it will cost u less and then you have a 4WD fast, safe car that will outlast your distain... when I was at the cross roads like you , but years ago, I made a big mistake by changing cars... do what God speaks to your heart but heed some of the sound advice here...

well im 19, and i can't relate to your thinking.

you have time to get a sporty car... cmon we're 19, u think u're going to die at 25 and need that sporty car? jesus, plus if you're not paying everything... school, insurance, bills, ur car. u shouldn't have the decision to buy any car u want esp. if u had it for a week.

enough with the lectures b/ci know it doesn't go anywhere. all-in-all i suck at driving, u suck at driving.. so giving a sporty car to a sucky driver = bad things... idk why ppl complain about fwd and they're just 18... they barely know how to drive.. not like they will know how to use it...

anyways the rl is a very nice car, i'd trade my cl for it any day... of course most ppl won't recognize it... or respect it... but why do u care? the z and g are the most popular coupes for our age... overrated imo...

be happy with what u have... other ppl have more to worry about than having a "sporty" car

Umm i didnt loose nothing for the TL because I traded at my dealership. If i wanted to trade everyplace else i would have been 7500$ upside down. ......I would rather be upside down 1500 on the RL

I also think your more upside down then you realize. You don't just lose $7k of negative equity by going to "your dealer" we're not talking about $100k cars you just can't hide that much. Seriously stop fucking whining, your 19 and driving a RL, suck it up and "suffer" with a car that is not your dream car. Give yourself a goal, something to aim for, don't allow yourself to get a new car until you complete college for example. Buying everything you want in life will not make you happy, rewarding yourself as you go is much more fulfilling.

I also don't think modding the RL is going to make you happy, don't waste the money. Putting the A-spec suspension and a set of wheels on it is not going to make it handle like a sports car.

well the RL is designed for the older crowd. all the RL drivers i've seen are as old as my parents or in their late 30s, 40s, and beyond.

In all seriousness, Blazing, please, just keep your RL. Don't touch it. Like how older members in here all said it, just be glad that you have a nice car at your age.

Good luck.

I guess you havent been in the RL section? Check out Touge car. He eventually sold it to a dealer. His car was bad ass. I'm going to get one in ~4-5 yrs and mod it.

19 and you have a 2G RL, nice.... now you want to get rid of it?

Seriously, how did you not think this over? Did you not drive the RL before you signed the paperwork or something? My major is about the farthest thing from finance and I put some serious thought into my financial decisions before making them. You should do the same

Dude, I told you to get the Aspec or Mugen lip kit. That does wonders to the RL. And a nice drop, CAI, and Exhaust...shoot you'll be going faster than most TLs. And then its All Wheel Drive?!!?! Cmon man....you cant ask for much more than that. I wish my TL had all those bells and whistles. Not only that...you knew all about the RL before you copped it....you made that decision.

All in all, I knew when you frist made the announcement about coppin the RL that you wasnt going to like it. I mean...what 19 year old you know aspires to have an RL? I dont know of anyone...but hey..to each is own. I'm pretty sure we all have had to stick with cars we didnt really like...shit...I was stuck with a 91 Buick Park Avenue(god I hated that car)....but I made it work until my money was right and got something bigger and better...The TL. So just be patient Daniel Son....you'll get yours in due time.

Wax on...Wax off!

At your age, do whatever you like. It's not like you're really planning on listening to us. You are about to throw away a combined $9000. Like someone else said, it must be nice to have rich parents. Or have no respect for money.

im not throwing away 9Grand...and my parents are not rich. I must have stated something wrong. I traded in my TL for the RL at MY job because they were the only place that gave me the exact trade in value for my car...I was quite thrilled because every place i went had me upside down steep and i was going to just keep the car. My car been hit horribly and therefore the value dropped. Since i worked here for a while they paid off my TL loan and put me in the RL they had for 500$ over cost plus tax.

Trading the RL im only upside down about 1500$. If i traded the TL elsewhere i would have put 7000$ negative equiy on some other car. Now using the RL i am only puting 1500$ negative equity...Get it?

Im a smart kid....i did that trade because the RL put me in better equity standing than the TL if i wanted to trade out.

This thread just doesn't make sense to me. I understand you want a "sporty" car but did you really think you wouldn't get flamed for talking about getting rid of a TL for a $50k car and wanting to part out it for a 350z? Have you thought about winters? I'm in NJ so I'm sure you get the same snow we get and the last time I checked RWD cars don't do well in snow. I guess we live in a different generation now because I got a 1988 Accord when I started driving and didn't get a new car until I could pay for it myself. Good Luck with whatever you get but personally I'd be happy with what you have. If you want, I'll trade you my modded TL-S for your RL.

Yes, it was sarcasm. I understand dumping the TL. That made sence. And good for you that you got your dealership to hook you up. But why not just get the G or the 350Z there? You just spent $1500 to rent a car for a week. That's the part that I find retarded.

Hell, like I said before, it's your money. You have a great car there and got a good deal on it. I would hold on to it. But I see your point of needing something sporty. So, if that's what you want, then go for it. If you do and 2 weeks go by and you want something else after that, the YOU WILL BE FLAMED.

I think you're getting the flame treatment because you're a 19 yo kid who is complaining about a 40K+ car which isn't sporty enough.

I might be wrong in this but, most guys would have given their left nut the have a 40K+ car at the age of 19. Relax and enjoy the nice ride you're in. You'll have plenty of time for sports car as you move through life.

Best advice given so far.

Buyers remorse is probably the worst thing about younger people. Listen, if you ask for advice from older people, older people will give you sound reasonable advice.

Honestly, being 19 and driving an RL is a treat; having your parents pay for the insurance is a bonus as well, as I'm sure insurance payments on a $40k car must be expensive (unless its just liability insurance).

In all honesty, your RL interior is 100 times better than the G35 interior, and IMO the 350z is starting to look dated. You drive a car thats super rare, and IMHO, looks absolutely sweet when modded. Take a look at the Mugen kit for the RL... now that's sex on wheels.
