TL-P v.s TT?

Hey whats up guys. Some kid at my school wants to race me in his parents car(fuckin cheater) its a 03' TT quatro 225 hp, and its chipped, so im thinking it round 255-260 hp(190 WHP) Ill be racing him in my 99' TL-P with CAI, headers, pullies,V-afc. Im just wondering what my chances are before i go against him. Thanks

ohh yeah and i might be looking into a Nitrous system too, and mabey new type-s cams.

which one is it? All wheel drive or front? which engine? If its the all wheel drive and a 6 speed, he will smoke you they run below 6.5 0-60 in that configuration.

i thought the quattro's are the awd systems on those cars..

i dont know man, TT's are just kinda bulky and heavy. with your parts on i think you can get him without a big problem. and i highly doubt you would need a nitrous system. i dont see the point of getting those in a car like a TL.. if you want power just go for a nice set of exhausts and a bigger downpipe. comptechs would be nice, if that's too much go for magnaflows. you already have the intake and headers.. and if youre still not satisfied go get yourself a comptech supercharger.

yeah i dont think id have that much problem, mabey the first few seconds do to his AWD, but like i said before he has the 1.8L Turbo 225 hp, with a chip so prob round 255 hp(190whp), so it will be fast but he still has a govenor that kicks in at 130, my 99'(as another thread is stating) doesnt have a govenor.

yes but are you racing past 130MPH!!! I doubt it. If he has an auto, then maybe, but if it has the 6 speed - then no you will lose

if he's chipped then i don't know

i have beat a stock TT with 225hp Quattro 6spd AWD by a quarter car of length at 3rd gear, you probably have a chance, but you have to take him to 100mph at least

if he sucks at stick then you definitely can win, the 1.8T engine doesn't have much high end power, VTEC RULZ!!!

what other mods do u have? V-AFC alone wont do it. I figure with exhaust and intake u get to 6.7 0-60, 6.5 with headers, 6.3 with a new crank pulley, and then the VAFC 6.2

then u can always go for unichip form v6performance.net which should bring it close to if not 6 seconds flat. Thats my ultimate performace goal, 6 second 0-60 TL-P

WTF does that have to do with it? If you're racing above 130 mph on public roads you're an idiot. Scratch that, if you're racing at all on public roads, you're an idiot.

Don't forget many chips also delimit the car, so the 130 may be a non-issue. Plus as stated before if you get there it is a major stupid move.

I say you let the guy with the TT crash into a wall. That solves the problem

I wouldn't be racing on public roads going that fast. That's FAST.

Well I realize that you don't go fast with other cars around you etc, but some things can happen at night that you won't be able to prevent... A deer could run across the road, you could not see something because it was so dark, a car could come out of the middle of nowhere, police hide better at nighttime. Its just not safe to be going that fast on public roads, my friends used to race alot the lakefront in high school, and we thought it was safe too because it was very late and no cars were out, but 2 of them died from seperate accidents while racing, one was only going 60 mph when he lost control, and the other was going around 90 when his car hit a tire in the middle of the road that he couldn't see and he spun out and hit a tree. Not to mention all of the times we got harrassed by cops that we couldn't see.

Just be careful x 2.

Well put, um, girl. There are so many things that can go wrong during a race on opens roads. Trust me, I've been on the losing end. Be smart, keep it safe.
