Here is my car with 16s instead of 17 stock wheels. These are my winter tires that I put on early ( Hankook Ice Bear). Anyway, I know they look too small for the car and the rims are kind of ugly but after driving around for a bit I like driving on 16s vs 17s. The car seems to feel lighter and turning seems more crisp. Maybe there is something to this unsprung weight thing I read about before I got my 16s. I wouldnt mind getting rid of the stock 17s for the car as they are HEAVY. 44.4 pounds on the scale.

Lighter is BETTER.

Before I even replied, I did not expect so many people to have the DWS?!?! Ive had the DWS on my TSX for about 3 months 4.5K miles and its awesome. handles a lot better than the previous Michelin sport pilots I had. Funny, I came across these from another forum, beyond.ca where it seemed to get a lot of praise there as well.

Just got my 2007 TL with the 'Sumitomo M+S' any feed back on these, I drive in light snow in the winter, found they are great taking corners at high speed. My 2000 Prelude has the Michelin Pilot Exalto and find that they wear out pretty fast.

There is a chance it is my car. Maybe the poor camber in the rear is causing them to ride heavy on the inside. Or maybe it was a bad set of DWS. Not sure. The louder tire was not the issue as much as it was the harmonic nature of the noise.

Either way when I changed them to the UHP's the harmonic noise went away and when I went to the Michelins everything got better.

I have these. I feel like the sidewall is too thin. Steering feels less direct on turn-in. Also, their grip seems to have declined a decent amount since I first got them. Still a lot better than the Michelin MXM4 stock tires.

I actually like the MXM4 so far. They are very quiet, good on dry and wet traction. I have not used them in the snow yet. My feeling is that will be a lot better than the Bridgestones I had before.

I remember I read somewhere that 1 lb of unsprung weight is like 3 lbs of sprung weight.

So losing say 10lbs of unsprung weight is like actually losing 30lbs.

They're great tires for the 99% of drivers. Pretty comfortable, quiet, and they last a LONG time. But for us 1% who race and care about performance, they're not very good, especially in the rain (I know, having autocrossed on them many times in the wet and dry).

I don't need to auto-cross my car. I'm much more focused on getting to and from work safely.

I had those Michelin's on my Volvo in Europe years ago and they were a nice tire, but wore a bit quick (30K Miles).

My current Subaru had Bridgestone RE 050A's, and they were great. Grabbed the road like a German Soldier grabbing some French tail. But like the French, they wore down real quickly and surrendered at 20K KM. Not acceptable.

So I switched to the Goodyear's I mentioned earlier and they are great tires for me (no snow).

DWS are nice.

I'm on all season Hankook S's, feel very solid and grip the road pretty nice. Hankook tires are pretty underrated, and cheaper compared to the German/French brand tires.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus FTW!!! Best all-season tire that I've ever owned. Almost as good with grip as the PS2's but cuts through the winter muck too. I highly recommend them. However they were $300ea.
