Tint on outside of window
The few times i've watched Unique on SPEED I see them tinting the cars from the outside. Am I confused or are they really doing this? If so, why?
I assume it's to make the tint darker. Is this the case?

it definately looks like he's applying it to the outside. It's almost like they are creating some super dark limo tint, they'll do the inside, then the outside.

that was my thought, maybe they were just doing it for a show or something, because the one time that definately sticks in my head was when they were doing it was to Tony Stewarts Lambo before some big show.

That was uncalled for...
A Google search yeilds many results saying it is only applied on the outside so a shape can be cut out of it. I have to think this is what they were doing, not even an idiot would put window tint on the outside.... Of course I could be wrong here, and there could just in fact be a good reason for doing it...

Ya, I know they use the outside as a templet of shape, but in the shots I saw, it definately looked like it was being applied and when done, done.
I still think it may be used to give a complete black look to it.

He probably was, and the reason I thought it was on the inside and outside was because he made the template on the window he had already tinted
Because I too was thinking "this is the dumbest things i've ever seen, what happens when it gets scratched"
