Exactly. Most places around here just put vinyl over that, and then tint to the small strip of vinyl (sounds odd, but looks clean)

That's horrible, I wouldn't leave w/o a refund AND new glass

Then go to a good quality spot, Adri and i both just had ours done. They both came out great, we even had them paint the dot matrix's on her back window, came out FLAWLESS

That is a horrible job, but comparable to this girl in first gen a few years back where they did her rear window in 4 pieces all overlapping each other

It may be possible, depends how deep the scratches are, if your nail gets caught in them, then most likely not

The Eastwood Co has some great glass polishing products

Should have gone to tint king in billerica. Definitely see if they will fix/buff the glass, get your money back, and then take it to Tint King. First off, they machine cut the tint so no sloppy-ass lines. Secondly, they tint over the dot matrix and it comes out clean. Not sure if they tinted behind the brake light but I can't really tell so I have no complaint.

www.thetintpros.com

Best tint place i've found locally, great guys too, tell them the kid w/ the Red GTO sent you as i've sent a good amount of people to them lately. Everyone has been happy!

Formula One has them do warranty work for all the local shops that screw up, and they are the only shop from LA to SD that Formula One allows to use the film they are using.

Great shop, my GTO was $200, Adri's car w/ painted matrix was $240, completely reasonable for quality work IMO

Thanks for those pics - they make me feel slightly better about what I've got, but worse generally for humanity.

wow that is the shitiest tint job i have seen, my friend tinted his own windows and they came out better than that.

the glass should be replaced,

the dots is a problem,

i had the dots on the back tinted, the guy used a glue stick and said its pretty much hit or miss if it works.

he later added a custom cut black vinyl strip which covered it up.

you have every right to get that fixed, if it is a brand new car i would def bitch a lot about it, filling it isn't gonna be a longterm solution. hopefully you paid with a CC or cash with a receipt. take it to court if you have to, the threat should make them pay up. also who knows if they scratch the hell out of the windows when they remove it?

My boss, a generally knowledgable and handy guy, says that they can buff scratches out of glass... anybody back this up?
The eye glass place was able to buff out some etching on my glasses. I would think the same can be done for any type of glass.

Well, no bitching was needed. I talked to the guy yesterday and he sounded pissed at the guys and ready to make things right with me. When I showed up this morning he walked around the car for a minute, shaking his head. He took the car back already and he's replacing the back glass and the quarter windows (his shop is attached to a glass shop and I guess they have something worked out), and then he's re-tinting all but the front two. He's also disconnecting the 3rd brake light and tinting behind it. For my troubles, he's also going to detail it for me.

<-- Happy.

Sounds like a stand up guy. It's nice to see people out there who value the customer more than the bottom line. These places are harder and harder to find.

He was. Shook my hand at least three times and apologized profusely. I voiced my appreciation for his immediate and thorough handling of the situation. I just hope everything's 100% when I pick it up later...

He is now driving your Subaru in the same manner as the garage attendants in Ferris Bueller when they took Cameron's dad's Ferrari for a joy ride

only takes about 30-60 minutes for the rear window, the quarter panel probably about the same

Hopefully they are smart and tint the window before putting it in

I'd give them a call and suggest it if I knew of a way to make him see the smiley mid-conversation.

Car looks better than the day I drove it home. They tinted all the glass before installing it and disconnected the third brake light. Detailed the whole thing. I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow, but in the meantime I'm loving it. I feel like I just got a new car again.

It's nice to see that some business owners still believe in making "things right"...

It's refreshing to see a standup guy in the business community...

That's what separates the good from the rest; how they take care of the customer when things get fucked up.

Maybe this was all a big setup.

They fuck up the car.
Customer gets pissed.
They take care of the customer, by going the extra mile.
Customer tells everyone to go to shop.

Glad you got your car the way you wanted it.

Whoa - I never said I'd recommend them. Most places tint the windows right on the first try.
