Thoughts on Royal Purple Oil and Filter instead?
They'll work perfectly well in Acura vehicles, just like Castrol, Pennzoil, Mobil 1, and pretty much any other 0W-20 oil. The thing is, a different brand of oil will do exactly nothing to extend your engine life.
I don't think I'd spend the money for Royal Purple. It hasn't been shown to be any better than less expensive oils. There are probably a dozen "semi-scientific" tests on YouTube where Royal Purple is about average or even sub-par. Can't speak to the filters though. I want to say that I've seen a few videos where various oil filters were dissected and that Royal Purples filter membrane and pass-through were pretty good quality. But the oil itself, I'd probably pass.
If you're wanting to spend extra $$$ on oil, go for Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. It's more $$$ but seems to perform better than most other oils in the tests some folks have run on YouTube. Again, semi-scientific at best. As Horseshoez eluded to, it's not going to make a huge difference. The engine in these cars are not under a great deal of stress to the point where some super-crazy premium oil is necessary. I'd definitely go with a good brand name synthetic but I wouldn't both forking out the $$$ for Redline or Amsoil.

The difference is the additives and/or formula (RP is synthetic versus full synthetics that uses recycled oil as a base). From what I understand RP has patented additives that keep engines cleaner over time. Also, cost not much more as 5 qt oil jug around 35 versus Mobile1 @ 25.
^negligible difference....at the cost of more money.
For example;i pulled a junkyard engine and replaced my stock engine. I have NO clue how the used engine was treated...it's running strong as stock and will be running for a VERY long time.

It's been scientifically* proven that the more expensive the oil is, the better it is for your car.
So just go online Sort from Highest to Lowest($) and buy the most expensive one you see
*as scientific as butt dynos

What kind of airplanes? Certainly not piston engine aircraft; if Amsoil was put in them they'd be falling out of the sky by the hundreds.
While it may not make a difference, I have send Blackstone reports that people get better tests running RP versus other brands. The truth is that all oils have meet a certain standard set by API in the US.

I use Walmart's Supertech synthetic in my wife's Pilot. $21 for a 5qt bottle. Been using it since we bought it 6 years and 120K miles ago. Did a valve job about a month ago. Shiny clean inside.
I admittedly use Pennzoil Ultra-Platinum in mine. But I kick the crap out of it every weekend doing ride share so it gives me some peace of mind. Plus I plan on keeping it until it dies whereas we're going to upgrade to a newer Pilot in a year or so. Plus, it seemed to have quieted down the engine a bit. I was consuming about 1/4qt per OCI with Mobil 1. PUP eliminated that as well.

s pay full price.I just got 2 x 5 qt jugs of Mobil 1 from Walmart for [$22.88 - $12 Mobil rebate - $5 Walmart/Mobil coupon ] $5.88 each.
No way RP is going to perform 7 times better than Mobil 1
