Saw the RL in person and it was a huge turnoff. Interior ownz all but otherwise that car looks so damn boring.

Gonna have to see how the AWD does its thing though.

phin don't be so defensive.

even you would be suspicious if a 20-something who is still in (or just recently graduated?) college... who holds multiple degrees (which typically suggests some school-loan debt)... comes out saying their gonna buy a 50K car and have 20k to put down to boot.

whether you live with your parents... or in an apartment... whatever the case i don't recall you owning a home... and that would typically be something you should look at before plunking down 20k (that would seem almost impossible to save in your scenario) on a 50k car.

regardless -- i don't give a shit if you have it or you don't... or if your serious or your not... or if you wanna spend it on a crack habit or a car.

i'm just saying -- dont be so defensive -- even you can admit that a post such as this would raise some red flags with you. in fact, i believe ive seen you on the other end of these type of posts before.

if you DO get the RL -- make sure you get us some good pics to put on RL.AZ

Throw some wheels on it so you don't get lost with the other boring cars that look similar (toyota).

$20k a car is waste...

Especially since $7k of it is going to go in the toilet the 1st year.

Maybe for the 40 or 50 something crowd that Acura is going for with this car, it will be exciting enough. I would guess that they didn't have the 20 or even 30 something set in mind when designing this vehicle.

Ya, I guess this posts would raise some BS flags. Seriously though, if you search some of the old posts, you will see that I used to own both a CL and a Boxster. I just never really posted pics of both or talked about it. I am also selling a Condo that I currently own in Michigan as I now live in LALAland. I can't effectively manage the amount headaches with it from so far away and I don't want to deal with a mgmt company when I already make so little off of the condo.
I would have a lot of debt, if I had taken out a lot of school loans. But I received scholarships for UG, worked full-time during my first masters, and then received a first year fellowship for UCLA. I do have second year debt though.
I now work in consulting which typically sees signing bonuses of 10-20g's and year end bonuses of that much.
So that's da story.............geez I feel like I am trying to get a date in LA. You have to bring a certified financial statement to the bar if you want to get anywhere.
I think I am going to go to test drive that shit today if I don't go to the bike races up in Lancaster.........

I'm thinking of picking up a used E500 next year, most likely 4Matic. I rode in my bud's 98 E320 w/ 60K on the odo and it rides/looks/smells brand new. Why spend the premium on a car that's gonna take a 30% hit in depreciation the first year of ownership? That new RL is fawkin' nice tho, no doubt.

I'm going to wait until next year. Perhaps the '06 will have ventilated seats or maybe even a hybrid option. If so, I want to wait for that.

If not.. I'll just get a used '05, let someone else take the depreciation and use the rest of my bonus money on gas/insurance/house payment

New RL is nice as hell on the inside but the exterior looks like a $50K Accord to me. JMO. For that amount, since your still under 30, I would get an M3.

Everyone I've ever known with an M3 was in his or her late 40's and probably cheating on their spouse.

I agree M3>RL. But they are two different cars.

Chief...save up another year, that way you have more + a good deal on a used mb cls.
