Test drove the new Murano.

I checked out the new Murano. It seems it is well built. The fit and finish is good. However, the gauges are just so weird. Yellowish small gauges.

Handling on back road was very good ( SE model). the CVT felt so weird that you floor it and rpms jumps to near red line...but there is no shift... Yeah... it is CVT... but really is it fun, no... casuse it lack the punch... an extra 100HP would be the cure.

At $38,750 for a fully loaded SE AW + NAV... I would say no thank you. I would pick a fully loaded MDX for that price.

The sales lady was defending the Murano:" You know, you need to wait 6-months for the MDX and pay $2K over MSRP". I smiled and said does this make the MDX a more attractive and successful SUV or what?..

my brother works for nissan.. and he currently has a murano in the driveway... the SL model.. (I think thanks the high end model)...navi, the works... I took it out for a spin to dog the hell out of it, and I was confused by that no shifting thing...but all in all, I liked it...If I was in the market for one, I'd probably get it.. it was pretty pimp IMHO.

Ah now if the new FX45 ( loaded ) was selling for $40k... I would buy one. The interesting thing if there is a Turbo for Z, then you drop that in the Muran and you get a hot rode SUV... just wish that the CVT doe not crap on you.

Is the murano based on the same platform as the infinity fx45?

FX is based on the FM chasis...ala 350z and G35. Murano is based "largely" on the Altima platform.

My brother has one, its an SE.....I like it, its peppy and handles extremely well. The suspension is a bit stiff on the SE, but tolerable. The interior is a little plasticy in certain areas, especially the door panels. Otherwise its not that bad.

This is my brother's, he sent me pics the day he picked it up. The SE wheels look really good in person, they make the Murano look more aggressive. The only interior I would get on the Murano is black.

I drove one about a month ago... I like the exterior but the dash definately would take some getting used to. I love the CL interior style, and exterior for that matter. My girl has a 3- series and she likes my car better! Once my lease is up though I am considering a Fully loaded Murano or FX35 w/o nav. Yea I am rambling... Nice truck though
