You guys are forgetting the dick size variable in the equation.. most of these cars aren't going to be living on the track.
Nothing wrong with wanting it quick and quick around the twists, and who said anything about turning it into a drag car? There's a point where power is unusable, but adding power doesn't mean you're repurposing the car.
It's obviously not geared to be a straight line monster, but if you can squeeze more out of it early one, why not?

Although I reserve my hattin for rich douches who destroy priceless automobiles while going 300 kmh down city / residential streets. I know the rednecks may chop it up +1000hp, but they'll love their car more than their own kids. The rich douches just want to see it burn..

Just read two car mags about the GT350 and GT350R. The praise both cars are getting is incredible. One said the GT350R is the best sports car they've ever driven. That says a ton right there. Oh and that 5.2 flat crank exhaust note in person yesterday...

Car was built on 11/10, currently sitting in Detroit waiting to be shipped.
I've trying to wait until I get the car in to post here, but the more reviews I read and watch I believe I would've chosen this over the 911. Road and Track Performance car of the Year, one of Car and Driver's top 10.
On the forum Ford theres a well known executive who owns quite a collection.. he took delivery of a 350 and a 350R and loves them
Here are a few of my fav videos that are holding me over. I'm supposed to receive it next week. In the meantime I picked up a 2000 Toyota Landcruiser for a daily driver to beat on, so I'm just tinkering on that at the moment.

Sorry for the duplicate videos, I will blame it on age.
I've probably called Ford Performance twice a week for updates, they're very nice and understanding.. apparently theres a shortage of shipping companies right now. (at least that is what they tell me) I'm very anxious, but with the winter weather coming I'm trying to manage my expectations, I probably wont get to enjoy it until the spring.

Only 37 2015 Rs, in honor of the originals. The rest will be 2016 MY cars. Same difference, just an extra few 0s at BJ in 50 years.

My deal is MSRP (after calling 15 dealerships with markups) and $1000 less than that one because I went with the track pack.. only reason I would switch is to have it now instead of the end of the month.
Tech pack is cool with Nav, heated/cooled seats and such but I will wait.

Either way, awesome, awesome choice. I'm far from a Mustang guy, but these new models look fantastic and are calling to me, and the GT350, oh man...

Can you combine tech and track? I'd want both, since I'd never/rarely track the car, but the track pack has some goodies.

A few GT350 owners say their cars showed up unannounced to the dealership, I'm hoping that is what happens with me. The moment the dealer calls I am dropping everything at work and heading over there.

NP. Because I don't really want the "shelby" attention I got black no stripes. I'm hoping it flies under the radar as a GT or Ecoboost but we'll see.

I need to change that but I lived in Atlanta when I signed up and still have a house there.. but I just moved to Illinois this past summer right outside of St Louis and I hear the winters can get ugly here.

Hey now, I thought St. Louis was a very cool city when we visited this summer. Then again we only saw the "nice" parts haha.

I have a teenage son and now a teenage stepson, so I needed relatively functional back seats.. otherwise a 991 would've been on my list, but I'm not sure after seeing the GT350 in person.
First, I picked up a daily driver last week.. 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser
I already love driving and modding this thing. Amazing truck, love it.
But I got to sit in my new GT350 today.. and it is special. Pictures do not do it justice. I got black without stripes because I wanted to avoid the Shelby attention, but you can tell its something special.. and then you hear it. The only way I can describe the sound would be a domestic exotic. Too high pitched to have the muscle car rumble, and too low to be compared to a Ferrari. I once heard someone say its the "gentleman's V8," almost like an Audi but different. I will give driving impressions tomorrow when I take delivery.
I'm not deeply religious, but I have been truly blessed lately. I think all of this will only feel right by doing something for someone else.. so if you know someone in need or on hard times as a family this Christmas, please pass their name along.

Also, good pick up on the Land Cruiser - always liked those. That will be an excellent utility vehicle for you when you're not burning up the asphalt in the 350
