I don't know exactly, but I suspect all of them sold for retail. He ordered it 2 years ago.

the Tesla website has a bunch
so the car has 2 gears: forward and reverse. In forward, the engine goes from zero to 14,000 rpm. Since its electric, it can deliver max torque at zero rpm up through 7,000 or so rpm providing great acceleration. It gets to 60 mph in under 4 seconds!

I'm looking for real world shots.

They use frame and body components from lotus:
Components and subsystems for the car come from a variety of sources all over the world. The Roadster itself, or "Glider" is assembled at Lotus in Hethel, UK. Final assembly for the Tesla Roadster takes place in Menlo Park, California.

cool. not sure it's worth 3 times the price of a regular elise, but i guess if you got the money. I think i'd buy and exige and a regular electric car or lease the clarity if I were in socal and could get my hands on one, but maybe that's just me.

Got to ride in it yesterday - WOW
First, regarding the color, my camera (phone) does not acurately reflect the true color. Its more of a crimson red and does not look pinkish like the photos.
The acceleration is awesome. As I stated before, max torque is immediate and you can tell. It slams you back in the seat and doesn't let go until you let up on the gas, er pedal. I've never been in a car that could accelerate that fast.
The drive characteristics are a bit odd, there's no "coasting". You let up on the pedal, and the engine brakes the car. Its a direct drive between engine to wheels.
This was the first model, so there aren't really any options. Navi and stereo built into the same screen. Really no other creature comforts. And, it is small, very stiff suspension, very quick cornering.
I took a few more pics and will post later today.

This car has really started to peak my intrest. I hope to see it for the first time at the chicago auto show. Hopefully they will have some on display that you can get to sit in. I didn't want to post another thread about this car, so I Decided to resurrect this post.

wow, no coasting capabilities? that must take awhile to get used to. that means that if its an auto, you could literally do all of your driving using just one pedal
