The Boss 302 looked really good going aorund the track, seemed like a nicer suspension setup than the Roush.
Overall good episode, and its funny how TGUSA has the nice digital lap time board, and TGUK still has their magnetic board. I guess that's part of the charm of TGUK.

IMO, he's got nothing on Adam Carolla. I'm stuck listening to him every week on Celebrity Apprentice now, when I hated hearing him during the Car Show (not that it lasted). Maybe Adam doesn't bother me so much since I'm so close to NY and used to people talking like that

that was a nice episode, it made it seem it was more obvious that tanner was the stig. Not letting him run that circuit.
The cinematography is pretty damn good thats for sure.
And watching it in HD, damn.

anyone else think tanner almost lost the camaro down in the river, that seemed like a pretty close call lol
edit: so here's my one thing I really didn't like about the episode. Tanner was always afraid to call out the camaro. Its obvious he didn't like the car. He wouldn't demerit it at all. This is why sponsors are bad, if that is the reason. TGUS needs to learn to speak their mind. If they like every car they drive its useless as a way to get knowledge about the car.

I didn't like this episode. The whole, oh! I gotta go the speed limit thing was lame. None of the jokes were funny either. The only entertaining piece was watching Tanner drift that Boss around that sweeping curve. That was beautiful.
Following is the conversation I had last night with the wife after she noticed me watching TG USA
wife : Hey, how come they changed the hosts?
me : This is not the same show (she was referring to TG UK, which she catches me watching all the time, mind you she usually has no interest in these kind of shows).
wife: well I dont really like them, as a matter of fact I hate them.
me : why, what happened?
wife : they seem like they are trying to hard to be funny and its almost sad at times.
So there you have it, I think every one has already established what is wrong with this show, but I found it interesting as how someone who is not even an avid TG UK fan can spot the sadness that is TG USA.
I personally dont mind TG USA, its entertaining at best

And really? Was the best the producers could do an automatic Camaro? Really?
Of course, I suppose they just didn't want him drifting it. I suppose a slushbox is one way to do it.

I also agree with knight rider, watching Tanner drift the Boss was epic.
My wife likes the UK TG and this is pretty much her same reaction.

I find myself often just trying to get through the program.
Unfunny, forced, boring.
Tanner being the only driver in the group just kills the show.
Other than Tanner, the Rut and Adam just can't pull off being car guys.
Ok, maybe Rut a bit more than Adam, but Adam is a fish out of water.
He brings nothing to the table.
All in all, it still comes off as amateurish. Not as amateurish as The Car Show was, but amateurish nonetheless.
This ep sucked. Let's see... they are 1 for 4 this season for good shows! I'd like to start a conspiracy theory that TG makes sure this show is not as good as TGUK
I mean, the cast, the scripts, the obvious missing segments every show... it's just a canceled show waiting to happen.

I thought that the descent to be a really bad show was going to be slow, but it's happening really really fast.
I'm still forced to watch it because "it's a car show", but I thank the DVR skip button for saving me a lot of time.

I have a strong feeling this will be the final season of TG USA.....and rightfully so.
The show is a mess...top to bottom.
They need to re-tool the show from the hosts to the content, or just cancel it.

lol my gf said the same thing about the decade old minivan episode...they should have had new current model minivans at the very least to be relevent. they're not TGUK...they dont have the fanbase/history to make a good used car episode imo.
The issue with this season is too many damn budget challenges. The ZR1, 458, GT2 RS, CTS-V, & the Boss 302 are the only new cars they've really reviewed and even then, those cars have already been out for a while.
If they want to take some ideas from TGUK (such as placing old ladies in cars), then steal some more unique ones. Have the 3 try to create a Chevy commercial or do a Auto vs. Transportation race.
Actually, come again, I doubt that would work either. Although the show touts that the 3 are different, their personalities aren't. None of the 3 have that large gap in cockiness & know-it-all that James & Clarkson have which makes for a humorous interaction. The closest is Foust & Wood, but Wood's too forgiving in his disagreements.

Oh c'mon guys....it was pure guts to bring a manual, RWD, driftable minivan on that challenge. Some of it was predictable for sure, but when I suspended belief and just concentrated on the camerawork, I did find it enjoyable.

I actually enjoyed this past weeks episode.

I think the in-studio segments are where the show loses the most. The big star, little car segments suck. I like the whole-episode challenges.
I enjoyed it. But maybe it's because I've stopped comparing it to TGUK. I think of TGUSA as it's own show... a show that just happens to be called TG. Plus, it's better than 95%+ of what's on tv now. Yes, Adam Ferrara can be annoying, but it's bearable.
I saw this episode as being no different than TGUK doing a whole show on whether it's cheaper to buy a used car vs renting one for a week while vacationing in the U.S.... or whether they could drive a Toyota Hilux to the North Pole..... or whether a car that's £1500 or less would be able to travel across Africa.
This epside was a challenge episode. It wasn't meant to be an episode where they'd review minivans.
It must be doing good if the History channel extended the 2nd season by 8 episodes.
Can't find any info on ratings for the 2nd half of season 2, but the 1st half of season 2 brought a 30% increase in viewers. 1.9 million viewers.
I can't remember any U.S. made car show being as entertaining as TGUSA. I wonder how many people watching TGUSA have seen or heard of TGUK.
I think we'll see a 3rd season. They've probably already made plans on how to improve the show... looking at what worked and didn't work during season 2. Season 2 was an improvement over season 1. Season 3 should be an improvement over season 2.
Will the show ever be as good as TGUK? I don't think so and that's okay because it's still a good/entertaining show in its own right.

Like TG:UK this season, all their relevant info is for cars that are nearly 100k.
When they do challenges its either a 200k car or $1000 car.
