Very impressive considering the age of the Mclaren F1...but in the end, you just can't fuck with 1000hp and a shitload of TQ.
I wonder if there is a ECU upgrade for the Bugatti <.<

^ that's weird. I thought the Veyron can do 0-60 in less than 3 seconds, while the McLaren would take 3.2s. I guess the Stig was driving the Veyron, the outcome would have been very different haha, considering there's no traction on the McLaren.

Looks like the McLaren had him through the 1/4. My money would be on the F1 around a course.

They did a standing mile and the Veyron crossed at 320 kph (200 mph), while the Saleen S7 has done the standing mile at 205.7 mph. The Hennessey Viper TT convertible did the mile in 210.2 mph. Both the Veyron and McLaren F1 are icons, but there are numerous cars that can do a 200+ standing mile... yes these are million dollar "stock" cars, but handmaking a car and adding two turbos on an assembly line car you can get the same effect as this vid.
They need to compare the best out there in a standing mile and road course, that would be fun to see.

LIke the video said they are two different cars. For anyone who calls themselves a driving enthusiast, you HAVE, you MUST pick the McLaren F1 over the Bugatti!
The Bugatti is a complete joke to me!! Think about it: it weighs 4000 lbs!! are you kidding me?!?!?! what sports car weighs in at 4000 lbs? to get to 1000HP, it has 16 cylinders and 4 turbos!
what a joke! any car can get 1000 with all those extra power adders. and all of that just to Finally! get to 4lb/HP ratio? And you really do NOT even drive this car; all you do is step on the gas and it drives for you...1000HP and automatic? really??the McLaren F1 will forever be the single greatest engineering achievement in the car world...ever! It weighs 2500lbs!! now we are talking.
it also has a V12 with 627HP NATURALLY ASPIRATED = all business, no BS 18 cylinders and 55 turbos...power-to-weight is 3.98!!! (and I hope you guys do know HP means nothing! the power to weight ratio and balance of a car is how fast it really is!! and the McLaren wins!! lets see these cars on a course! )...and the best part you ask?? YOU actually drive the McLaren F1, all by your very self! like video said, no TCS, no electronics, 6 speed manual, etc...those are all good things in my book!
Bugatti is the biggest waste of money...no wonder people who generally love attention and have millions would buy one, but I never would.

Veyron is more of a gt car, not for the track. It's also very stable at high speeds. When you look at James May driving the Veryon at 250mph, the car isn't even shaking though it's covering a football field every second. When I look at youtube videos of TT Vipers or Supras doing a quarter mile in like 7.99s, it's VERY impressive but the whole car is shaking like it's about to explode or something. Of course the Veyron is a million dollars but it's still an engineering marble IMO.
I wonder how well it will do against the FXX, granted it's not a road car but still, that would be epic.

What's up with the tail lights on the Veyron around 4:08 and again at 4:27? Is that a sequence it goes into in Launch Mode or something?
Cool clip. Interesting that the F1 took it for a bit there. I wonder if the Veyron was actually in 1001hp mode since it needs a special key and the tire pressures need to be verified by Bugatti techs...

yea i was wondering the same thing. it seems that once it hit that speed where it lowered and the spoiler rose up it just took off... isnt there a way to do that from the get go? would that of made the difference
