In the video Clarkson complained that American drivers aren't aggressive at all. It was the exact opposite of what was written here.

clarkson is a biased blow-hard. i really am just annoyed by him and the talk about american cars vs. euro who cares, it is all about what you want out of a car. by the way, audi's, MB's, VW's, Jag's all are very unreliable manufacturers. Just look at their vehicles ratings for reliability in consumer reports an msn.com. I really like japanese cars better. honda, toyota and nissan make very reliable cars overall compared to everyone else. On a side note no one does or ever will make a better truck than america period. and I mean a full sized truck not a tacoma or a frontier or the hideous ridgeline honda screwed up on.

Its not always about reliability Japanese cars dont have the driving pleasure as the european cars do. IMO

And im still baffled by the video, the roush mustang doesnt win the race so the lotus is better? Try driving that lotus as a daily driver. I mean that was his issue with the Z06.

Jeremy Clarkson is just pure entertainment. He is the Michael Moore of shock value as Beltfed mentioned.

Even though you might not agree with what is said, its still fun to watch. Of course im a tad biased since i enjoy his bashing rants.
Watch the entire video here:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...+ugly+clarkson

Look at what he has to say about America in the beginning for example. I used to find him entertaining as well, but I feel he has gone a bit too far.

Here is one choice quote about Americans:

"I feel like the only civilized person at a garden party for very rich apes"

The video is full of crap like that..

- Racing a V6 convertible Mustang around the course and saying it has a 4.6L 300hp engine. A horse beating it around the course? Yeah right.

- Not putting the Z06 up against any other European cars as competition but only saying it is rubbish because it is loud inside, yet putting a 300C against an M5 is fair.

- The race with the Roush Mustang - It lost because the driver screwed up. Why not post a lap where both drivers drive correctly?

- Overcooking the Cadillac through a turn on purpose to make it look like it handles terribly. Also, complaining about the exhaust note when it sounds fantastic in the video

- Using an Escalade with the optional 22 inch rims against a Land Rover in an offroad course.

- Driving a piece of crap Buick and saying his back hurt when he drove over a pot hole? That is the furthest thing you can complain about with a Buick - it's the opposite.. it is so soft and floaty you don't feel anything...

- Calling the Ford GT British because a few parts are made there, but not saying the same thing about the Land Rover or Jaguar he loves who are actually produced by an American corporation and some parts used in those vehicles are produced and designed in the US.

I can go on and on.. But these are a few of my rants

Or the Ariel Atom for that matter.

The part I was talking about is at 45:45 into the video. It's the exact opposite of what was written above.

the vette, by the way, is always and WILL always be the best bang for your buck....engine wise...in tests, the vette always has it's moments where it shines but in the overall look, it'll never be beaten by say, a 911, or a gallardo. i wouldn't care how much faster a vette is than a 911, i would choose the 911 any day. 1) because i would never need to go any faster and 2) at least the roof on my 911 wont fly off while i'm going down the highway. it's all about quality.

my opinion on foreign/american cars is based solely on the fact that i've grown up in a house with only foreign cars, time and time again. i know every repair that's had to be done and everything that's gone wrong. i watch my friends with cavaliers, grand ams, aleros, monte carlos, malibus, neons, grand prixs, and so on, go in for repairs ALL the time. i stand back and say "wow...that's never happened to my TL..."

quality and reliability is what makes a car, not just the size of the engine.
I hear what your saying, I guess i am a little bitter and biased now. I owned a 99 TL that went through tranny after tranny after tranny. Problem was that i loved the car, but with the tranny problem and squeaks and rattles, i couldnt take it any more. I now have a modded trans am, and that car takes a beating from me and keeps on trucking. And i know others with american cars that have 175k+ miles on the cars and only had to do preventative maintenance. Dont get me wrong, i like the euro cars and japanese cars more than most any american cars, but i just hate how people dismiss american cars and call them junk. I admit, the US has its fair share of junk, but so does everyone else. The problem these days is that everyone wants American torque, Japanese quality, and European handling/interiors. It wont happen.

ahhh the wonderful glass tranny. glad i missed that one by 2 years. i dont dismiss american cars all together, i love the styling on a lot of them and find them attractive with the prices but if a brand new pontiac G6 and a used BMW 3-series were placed in front of me, i know which one i'd pick.

also, jeremy clarkson bashes american cars but if you watch top gear, they rarely test american cars and yet he still finds "awful" or "dreadful" things to say about foreign cars. like i said before, he hated the chrysler 300 but if you watch the video when he tests the M5, he hates that just as much...until he presses the "M" button of course.

Yea. You guys are seriously hard on Clarkson. Clarkson bashes BMW just as much as american cars with the exception of the Z4M Roadster. And on top of that, the guy bought a Ford GT.

I don't know if he had to undergo a lot of reconstructive surgery to his face or if he just had a number of botox injections, but it looks like all of his facial muscles are paralyzed - kinda like Cher. His brow doesn't furrow and it looks like its impossible for him to squint.

If there's been that much damage on the outside of skull who knows what may have happened inside of it? Hammond looks like he has the addle-headed expression of someone who just had a stroke or a lobotomy. He may be alive but his elevator may no longer go all the way to the top.

Maybe I'll seriously consider digital cable when I buy my house. I really wish I could watch this show without having to do YouTube searches

Cool

So, James May of Top Gear hits the speed needed to get the 1.21Gigawatts to trigger the Flux Capacitor to travel back in time.

Is this the vid where Clarkson races the Veyron against a plane to see who can get to the UK faster? When I open the link it says that the vid is unavailable.

Oh, and w/o exageration, Clarkson must be the luckies man on Earth.

Oh, and another thing, it musts take some serious balls to be able to hold your foot to the floor long enough to get to the top speed.
