My wife and I have been looking for a replacement for her 2011 335i xDrive 6 speed-nothing new that's for sure, only used. I'm looking for a manual Carrera S or GTS used. There's not a lot of them but they're around.

For me, I'll probably jump into the Porsche game after the V. 996 or 997 Turbo would sure be alot of fun.

If I were getting into the newer P-car game, I'd probably be on the hunt for some variant of Cayman. Otherwise, I've always liked the 944.

Damn your killing it. Love the update. Glad you finally got the sways and control arm bushings in. You a better man than me. Once I learned that you had to drop the sub frame I said screw this and paid someone to install it and the bushings at the same time since I wasn't getting new arms anyways and had to have the existing ones pressed out. Love you seem to have the same reaction I did from doing them. Just makes the car so much more nimble with those things. I have the black bushings though and have been thinking of upgrading to the red ones to increase the handling even more up front. Super interested to hear your results on those engine mounts. I imagine mine can't be great with 128k miles on the car now. Definitely could need some and don't really want to go with new stock ones with that much power either.
What are the numbers again that you are putting down? I used to read you didn't really gain much from that size TB till after 800hp or so. Maybe I need to look into it again.

If your mounts have 128k on them, they are 1000% toast. I put new oem mounts in when I did the teardown & there's no doubt they are destroyed again after 30k miles. Still haven't had a chance to install the new ones. Owning 3 vehicles is great, maintaining them is a whole other story
With the sways, the install (specifically the front) wasn't bad at all but it sure helped that I was replacing uppers/lower control arms at the same time. Sure is a gamechanger though.
As for the TB, I haven't been on a dyno since it was stock but I "should" be as close to 700whp as I'm gonna get. The only reason i went with the 103mm is that the DDP intake can only be used with a 102/103mm TB. Not sure what gains I made but the car definitely responded well to the mods. Biggest positive is drivability without a doubt, just soo much smoother. Forgot what your setup is but I doubt you wont see gains with a bigger TB, especially if you have a ported blower.

Yeah, I will definitely need to take a look at my mounts then if yours was that bad. That might be why I feel like there is a larger kick than normal when I get on the throttle
I have the LS3 ported by Tony Mamo. It definitely made a big difference in the throttle response. It's only 93mm though I believe.

Yes, you are correct it is 90mm. If I got ported heads and blower someday I guess I need to go the 102 route at that time.

Finally got around to installing the new mounts.
Needless to say there was more than a few beers, plenty of swearing & I probably won't get feeling back in my arms till later this week but they're in. Oh and fuck 2" headers...
Surpringly the driver mount was still intact, passenger side was pissing fluid. Both were changed around 40k miles ago when I installed all my mods.
About a month ago I picked up a 2nd set of coupe rear wheels & now I'm running coupe rears on all 4 corners (19x10 +40). Sure feels nice not having to deal with spacers.
Need to get out for some proper pics but this should do for now.

If you held onto the old girl you could of had a real nice payday with current Vagon prices..
Just to keep the content coming, I have been toying with the idea of building a forged short block on the side. That's a whole other rabbit hole to dive into but we'll see what happens..

I've had a dragy for a bit now & finally dusted it off this morning to do a 60-130mph time. This was a 3rd - 4th pull.
Sure isn't as wild as some of these E85 turbo cars (sub 5s) but I think I can shave into the 7s leaving in 2nd. Whether my tires agree is a whole other story..

Had a run in this morning with some bro on a cruiser style motorcycle. For some reason they always think they're tough.
To sum up a short story I put a football field on his ass (shocker)...
My clutch also let me know that it's on borrowed time by slipping at the top of 4th gear for the first time ever. Of course I wanted to hear none of it..

Just a quick pic..
Not much has changed at all except for throwing 295s on the coupe rear wheels. Rear had to be raised & still needs to be dialed in a tad lower cuz the gap looks a bit bush league but it works for now.
