Still want the wife up in a slightly better gas mileage one?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-Cadill...wAAOSw9oVdoqAY
Also, another 6MT in Ontario for 19-25K US...
probably a steal if it's anything like the condition he's stating

Come to the dark side..
As much as I would love a wagon, she's not about it at all..
I saw that V posted on FB, looks decent except for that driver seat..

Just got back from getting a quote to have paint correction done with ceramic coating. (Read: black paint is brutal )
Been wanting to have this done since I got it last year. Ideally would love to have it done before the cross country trek which is only gonna add to the wear/tear of the paint. On the other hand, I'm contemplating just holding off since there's some battle scars that wont be corrected & more than likely alot more noticeable once the car is done. In a perfect world, I'd love to have the car resprayed/coated/PPF to keep it mint for a very long time but that would be 5k easy & wouldn't be for a bit down the road.
What do you guys think? Get the car done as is so that it'll be 90-95% mint or wait (ETA =?) to make it 100% down the road?

Ceramic won't really do anything for the road trip, except maybe make bugs wash off a little easier. It won't do anything to protect against rock chips.
Personally, I would go with just the paint correction and tape the front end for the drive now. Save the money on the ceramic coating for when/if you decide to respray it, and PPF it.

Get 2nd bumper, respray & keep stored. swap when the current bumper gets some wear. Respray/store 1st bumper. Repeat. Profit (or spend lots of $$$)

Yeah unless you have a car where a respray will hurt resale value or you have some crazy hard to match paint color it is just easier to respray every couple years than PPF.

do the paint correction yourself, the equipment can be bought for much less than what someone would charge you to do it.
and its not difficult at all, just buy an orbital polisher and get to work

I have all the equipment to do it & have done it many times in the past but with this move less than 2 days away, I just let the pros deal with it. Also, black paint > me
Dropped it off this morning & picking it up in the AM tomorrow. Got the windshield & wheels ceramic coated as an extra. More pumped for the wheels more than anything, V brake dust is no joke..

You're going to love it on the wheels. Cleaning brake dust off is so easy.

I can't believe getting it detailed is your priority 2 days before a big move
but hey, can't wait to see it.
And I agree...a proper correction is not easy. Can't wait to see the results.
Caddy was horrendous with brake dust. That's why I always planned my route to
never have to touch the brakes. Just go go go.
The Audi was actually worse with dusting believe it or not...wash car, go to store
a visible film on the fronts already. Once I figured out the rear had ceramics already
I swapped the fronts and now I can go weeks before you can even tell with only a
slight difference in initial bite when cold (which I never experience because daily street
driving like a gentleman).

Everyone is chirping that I'm taking the time to get the car detailed...
Haven't had a chance to get some good pics but here's a quick one from when I picked it up. There will be some solid ones throughout the cruise. Car looks amazing though, black as hell..

I'm telling you...I thought Nighthawk Black was bad...Raven was horrible with getting swirls. If I even farted near it it would swirl.
Now that you're good to go and ceramic coated you should be golden!
I learned an important lesson with that car actually. No car wash is better than a fast car wash. Always.

I second the Nighthawk black, my 6mt is my first black car ever and its definitely a love/hate relationship.
I thought I had the car near perfection, but was I ever wrong lol. When I take a light to it, its still got a lot of imperfections but they aren't too visible.
And as soft as honda paint is, im done spending money on it.
Once my ceramic wears off, I will be doing my own paint correction on it (I paid someone for the TL) and see what I can achieve before reapplying another ceramic.
But teh CL be aware, ceramic coating will not protect your paint from swirls...if anything the coating itself is much more susceptible to incur scratches and swirls if not washed properly.
That being said that results look awesome, im curious to see what your paint looks like under direct light...maybe post some pics?

Only ended up coating the wheels/windshield. Car just got a full buff/polish, saved the extra 1k to put towards a fresh bumper respray.
I'll get some sunlight pics when I have a chance. Today ended up being a great day weather wise and the sun was beaming, paint was still fresh AF...

Just keep that bitch moist and protected and do 2 bucket and TRY to follow the towel cleaning rules and you'll be fine.
let me reiterate...no wash is better than a quick wash before a hot date. 1 she won't notice, 2 it takes 30 seconds to create
8 hours of work later.
Or just do what Majofo does and just not give a fuck and beat it up like 2 week old pussy.
@MyGuti dude...I started with Zaino by hand moved on to pc and eventually rotary and back to pc...problem with the honda paint is
the heat from correcting created these little cracks in the base UNDER the clear so in the shade, perfect...in the sun...crow's feet everywhere.

shiiiet I was not aware of the cracking issue!! Hopefully I can avoid that, I use a Girots Garage DA polisher so its pretty difficult to burn through paint with that.
I once applied wax to my WDP by hand and threw my back out lol....never again will I ever do something so tedious without a machine.
I'll take another pic of the paint and post it here if teh CL doesn't mind, just want to show you guys how the paint looks when a strong LED hits it.
Im semi pissed about it because I paid good money for the job, from a reputable shop in my area which works on pretty high end cars usually.
But I'm a "car guy", enthusiast even, when I took delivery after the ceramic job, I had my phone out with the light on checking their work lol...…..the owner was a bit surprised by that.

The torque pro app is a life saver. Car goes into "Reduced engine power" and literally cuts the power completely, CEL pops up & we're in the middle of nowhere Manitoba. Check the code & it's for TPS Low voltage. Figured the TB was fucked & I'd have to somehow find a replacement
Clear the code & hope for the best. Restart the car & crushed 7 hours without a hiccup. Could of been alot worse & to top it off it was snowing..
Maybe I'll need a new TB sooner than later but in other news, ceramic coated wheels FTMFW..
