Damn 20mpg That is super impressive. I made a 2700 mile road trip in the Suburban and only average 12mpg fully loaded down. 20mpg sounds amazing.

Made a similar trip in my Jeep not even close to loaded down and it was ~15mpg with the majority across Nebraska and Iowa lol. Agreed that 20 sounds great!

Thinking back a few months, we did I10 from Houston to Baton Rouge to get the Rotus. Open trailer behind my dad's 14 Denali. Think we averaged about 12mpg round trip.
We thought about taking it when we went to KC, MO for a wedding, but seemed overkill for just 2 of us. Hindsight, it probably wouldn't have been much more $$ with the Malibu not getting out of the 20s (29.9 best).

I'm sure I could squeeze 1 or 2 mpg more but I'm not losing sleep over it.

It's funny though, on the TDI FB pages everyone claims to only get 28+mpg on the highway. I think they're out to lunch or just living by what the car tells them which is never exact. Or they just haven't hit any sort of incline ever..

i would hate to be in the slow lane or do under the speed limit on the fwy for the sake of mph. Just move with the flow and be good.

Haven't checked in for some time.

Old girl is still going strong, just crossed 224,000KM (139K miles). Except for replacing an AC line & the blower motor it's been business as usual. Still have a little bit left on the extended emissions warranty before I can finally delete & tune it which I can't fuckin wait for.

MPGs have actually gotten better as she's aged which still blows my mind. Got 32mpgs from Kelowna, BC to Lethbridge AB over 4 mountain passes, just wild.

Just finished a 10,000KM (6200 mile) cross country road trip back home to Ontario & back. Average MPGs for the entire trip was about 22 mpgs, fully loaded with a RTT & a tire carrier with a full size spare.

I still couldn't believe it once I did the calculations. Fuckin land yacht pushes 24mpgs in the city. Just continues to blow my mind.

Diesel FTW. It's too bad that there aren't more of them out there. Pretty reliable, efficient, and torque for days.

Also diesel is way more expensive here soo...
