i agree almost all state's requirements to get a driver's license need to be tougher. It's gonna be interesting i think in about 5 years European Union countries will go to a EU driver's license. it will be interesting to see how hard their test is.

like right after i got my permit and took all my driving time required like less than a month later got my full license. more it's trickier and more difficult to get. Even CDLs are tougher to get.
like when i got mine i didn't have to go to truck driving school. i just went and bought "the packet."(like 10 or 15 bucks). take your test, provided you pass your done. now you gotta go through school. do so many of "ride along hours" take a test then your done.
That's a good change. Lots of truck drivers on American roads are not as good at what they do as they should be. Nothing like being tailgated by an 18 wheeler when you're in the right lane, or trucks using the left two to pass when it has been posted that it is illegal.

regarding the topic, i honestly think its the government's fault. when i went to take the written test, 80% of the questions were alcohol related. there were 2 problems, 1- i dont drink, and 2- I WAS 16!!!!

now, i was honestly expecting questions to be about traction, terrible weather conditions, braking, how to react in dangerous situations, etc...

another problem is, they dont understand that teenagers tend to rebel against adults. if they had other teenagers that are actually good role models and have experienced first hand what dangerous and careless driving can do, explain to the new drivers, then i think we would see much better results.

i learned to drive safely and NEVER street race because my cousin died in a car accident (where the driver was speeding and lost control) and because the consequences are too great.

unless new drivers (teenagers, mainly) realize how consequential driving carelessly (including speeding) can be, then they will continue to rebel and do what they do. i guess like an epiphany.
