Speaking of restyling and new models, how about the Mercedes CLS thats available for order now, unbelievably nice lookin car. The new S class coming out i heard was going to look like a small Maybach

The CLS is slightly smaller than the S-class, isn't it? I guess it fits right in between the "S" and "E" class...

Love the Audi S8, something about it... But the Mercedes Benz S600 is so sweet.

My vote the Audi....

why get that slow thing when you can get the CL65 which is alittle cheaper, and will out run anything.

No question about it the LS is a very nice luxury vehicle, however I think it is one step below these cars. The LS belongs with, BMW 540, 740, the S430, Q45, and the A8.
Just my

S8 for me...

Less snob factor then the S-class...
Quottro...
Understated look (notwithstanding the gaping grill)...
Euro class...

Junkster, who thinks the LS is the value leader of the group

...well, to me... that's like apples and oranges... one's a coupe and the other's a sedan... besides, (again, just my opinion)... the CL is so outdated, even more so than the S-class.

Why is the Audi S8 there instead of the Audi A8 with the 12-cylinder engine that directly competes with the 760Li and S600?

Anyways, my vote is for the S600, although I think the A8's cabin leaves all of them in the dust.

Just wondering what cars directly compete with the S8 if its not the S600 or 760?

Likewise, what cars compete directly with the S600/760...Audi A8 with the 12-cylinder engine. My point exactly.

I know...it should really be the Audi A8.

12-cylinders, just like the competition, extended wheelbase, $100K price tag vs. the Merc's $120K...I forget how much the BMW costs.

I personally like Maserati's in general the Spyder, the Coupe, the GranSport etc. However the problem is these cars are all coupes, and the Quattroporte is a sedan which might just take some getting used to. Here in the US Maserati's are a rare car to see on the street, as opposed to Switzerland where i used to live. Due to the fact that Italy is in the near viscinity. The quattroporte should be on that list. Sorry

The new M5 is going to be an unbelievable car, with the v-10

"The high-revving M5 maximises the driver enjoyment quotient via a new seven-speed gearbox optimised for split-second changes.

BMW M is the first manufacturer to offer a seven-speed sequential gearbox with drivelogic function.

The new seven-speed SMG gearbox allows gears to be changed using the central gearshift lever or via paddles mounted on the steering wheel. Compared to the previous SMG transmission, gear change times are increased by 20%.

Thanks to the SMG's drivelogic function, the driver can choose from eleven gear change options, which enable them to adapt the SMG's characteristics to their very own style of motoring. "

So would you take the Mercedes if the navi wasn't glitchy, or are there more reasons for picking an ls430 over an S600????

I wouldn't say it's got luxury galore. Gadgets, yes...but the other players here are coming to the dance packing 12-cylinders, leather lined interiors (not just on the chairs and doors), performance (especially the S600), extended wheelbases, etc.

well, wit the term luxury, i kinda mean gadgets.... i mean, the ls fully loaded comes wit automatic closing doors, a rear fridge, bluetooth now, available 18 inch wheels, turning headlights, heated, cooled seat etc, not ness. performance, but when will people, even people who can afford this kind of lux., use it at over 80mph??? also, i used 'it' as the ls is not even german.... sorry no wonder im failing english......
