What did the magazines say? I know couple of my friends have them and love it . Rav4 and crv both look pretty cute for what they are.

Car and Driver didn't like it much for a new vehicle. Motor Trend didn't much care for it. US News hated it. Consumer reports didn't love it either (surprising because CR loves Toyota).

For a new Toyota model, a disappointment.

I guess I agree with critics. I also prefer the prior generation of both the CR-V and RAV4.

My wife's aunt picked up a new 2012 CR-V about three months before my mother inlaw picked up her new 2013 model. Inside and out, the 12 model seems to be a better quality vehicle than the 13.

Jeeps do little for me style-wise but I feel the same. The Cherokee photographs terribly, but for whatever reason it's far more appealing in person. Go figure.

I loved the interior of the Jeep Cherokee. I just can't figure out why the headlights were deemed a good idea by the folks at Fiat.

2012 CR-V and 2013 are the same. I have had a few 3rd generation CR-Vs (07-11) as loaners and have compared them to the 4th generation (12-current
) that I have and the newer one is a much better car than the older one. Faster, quieter, smoother, better interior quality, better ride etc. Don't get me wrong, the old one is still great, but the new one is just better.

As for the new RAV4; the quality inside is poor and the ride should be smoother as there is no handling advantage, unlike like the CX-5 which handles awesome.

Great choice on the CX-5! If it was out in December 2011 I'd have strongly considered it over the CR-V for sure.

Clearly I meant a comparison of the current vs last generations, just didn't bother seek out specificity. But the interior materials in the current generation aren't as nice as the prior generation IMHO.

But re: CX-5 as it is the benchmark of this segment.

I really like the CRV, but the deal on the CX5 I got was too good to pass up. Rav4.. IDK, never really gave it a chance because I perceive it kinda "girly." Maybe it's the name. haha Big fan of the CX5 interior in my grand touring model.

Looks great. I only drove the CX5 when they first came out. A Touring with the 2.0 & it was painfully slow.

It is a shame that the 6MT is not available with the Touring/GT nor with the AWD system, especially since it seems to be designed (on some level) with enthusiasts in mind.

Yes. 2.0 sucks. I was hoping to get a used 2013, but 2.5 sold me.

Even if manaul was offered, for my daily I would have probably still picked up auto.
