Subies have always been really reliable.

My race team is all subys, and I co-drive an STi when I can.

The last gen WRX had a glass tranny issue for some.
The older EJ20 engine had issues with the head gasket failing early.

If you nitpick, you'll find issue with every manufacturer, but like most Japanese cars, Subaru makes a product with a high degree of reliability.

We love our Suby.

I thought just the 01-02 models were prone to the tranny issue.

That's what I meant.

The bigger issue is that they're pretty good apart from some specific issues like every manufacturer has.

If your thinkin bout gettin a Subie....get it...ull love it...my bro has a 99 2.5 Rs...my cus has a WRX..my bros boss has a WRX with over 400hp at the wheels....they are fawkin nice carsssssssss

My cousin has had an STi for a little over a year now, that he abuses quite regularly, and he hasn't had any problems. My cousin in-law has a late 90's legacy that has been problem free as well.
