Still love my 09 TSX 6MT, but what next?
So I have had my 09 TSX 6MT since May 2011. It presently sports 190,000 miles. It still runs great and drives pretty well. The only things I have replaced on this car since I have owned it is tires, brakes, A/C condenser (where I took a rock), a wheel bearing, and a foglight. It still has it's original clutch. This has seriously been the best car I have ever owned!
I am now at the point, where I am looking to pick up something newer, although not brand new. I would prefer another 6MT, but we all know they are more difficult to find.
I have been looking at 14 TSX SE 6MT (identical to what I have, only newer), 15 Subaru WRX, 15 TLX 3.5 P-AWS, and even an Accord Sport SE 6MT.
I drive over 100 miles a day and enjoy it. I would like to keep enjoying it.
How about some opinions, positives, negatives... What would you pick and why?

Accord Sport or a Mazda6 Touring. Both available with 6MT. The Mazda is a fun little drive. Going a little smaller, a 2.5 6MT Mazda3 is fun as well & a little quicker than the 6.

Always been a fan of the WRX - dynamically, a really capable car for the money and may help you in NY winters.
The Mazda 6 / Accord Sport are much better looking cars though.

Well, going from an 09 to a 14 TSX SE 6MT makes almost no sense. Stick with the devil you know, if that's really an option.
I'm with wackjum about the FiST or FoST. One of the contenders I was looking at before getting the wagon was a FiST. I really, really, really, wanted to make it work, but there was less than zero chance a carseat was fitting in the back of that one. If I were looking for strictly a commuter, that's where I'd be. But for a kid-hauler. Nope.

I was in an uber that was a 2015 Focus ST with 124,000 miles. Nary a rattle in it. Made me miss my 2013 a little.
Another option, albeit slower, is a Mazda 3 hatch 6MT. I've heard good things.
Could look at a GTI but not sure what one if those will be like in ten years.

Thanks for the input! Since I have kids 13,11, and 7, I really can't go much smaller. They are all now at the ages where sports are starting to prioritize and I am carting them back and forth with football and soccer gear.
Now, you would not be able to tell my car has 190K on the clock. I am very good at maintaining all my vehicles, but there is only so much you can do against 8 NY winters, and an original clutch! It's only a matter of time at this point.
Love the 69 Charger comment! I was always a Dukes fan BITD! Too bad Barrett Jackson syndrome priced them insanely! One bonus would be lots of room for kids and gear, but they never were so good in the reliability department! LOL. Besides, I already have three Oldsmobiles (73 442, 77 Cutlass Supreme and 87 442) that I try to get out and about when I can!
I looked at the 14 TSX, as I know that it would work for me, and I already have wheels and snow tires tires that fit. I was just thinking about it from the "it has way less miles" perspective.
The WRX was fun, although the shifter is...well, not a Honda shifter. It felt different, and not necessarily in a good way. Maybe it would just take getting used to. The AWD would make winter more fun. I question reliability, as I don't know much about them.
The 15 TLX was nice. I struggle with the push button transmission. It has enough similarities to my TSX, but I kept trying to grab a shifter that wasn't there and put my left foot through the floor while driving it! I know the 3.5 will be rock solid, but I question the reliability of that transmission...
The Accord Sport SE was nice. As a 17, it was the most expensive, but I really liked the interior over the regular Sport with the cloth seats. It drove great and handled great, but you could feel there was less power than my TSX, which I would be OK with, but it's just not as fun.
Never really put much thought into Mazda. I will see if there are any around I can check out. Thanks again, everyone!

A buddy of mine just got a manual 2017 GTI and it's a blast! Very fun and very practical. I'm not sure about longevity though...

The 2018 Accord 2.0T6MT will be fantastic, and have the excellent interior quality.

Looks like I am headed toward the 17 Accord Sport SE. Between the discount on the car, what they are giving me to trade in the TSX, and the 0.9% interest rate, it was too good to pass up. I will find out more specifics later today to see if it's a done deal.
Thanks everyone for your input!

Nice pick up. They're making room for the 18's so the 17 is the way to go....
I never really paid attention, what's the difference between the Sport Special Edition and the Sport?
In 16 they didn't offer the Special Edition.
I like mine, I almost sold it, but with a cheap payment and good on gas it's decent had to be financially responsible... Plus I will have another toy within the year.

Next year my cousin goes and gets a 1997 SE Accord with the sunroof. It was basically LX + sunroof and wheels (no hubcaps). He got way better of a deal

I am in a similar situation. 2011 TSX 6MT Tech. What next when it's time to move on? I have had BMWs and Audis -- not again. I think only Mazda and Honda are making manuals in the same price range and size as your TSX. So from a Japanese small bore FWD sedan, I am thinking of going 180 degrees in a different direction.
I am seriously looking at a Chevrolet SS. It is one of the last American V8s with RWD with a 6MT. It's a very small production car, and I think this is the last year. Chevrolet manufactures it in Australia, where it is sold under the Holden brand.
The SS has a 6.2L 415 HP detuned Corvette engine with a 0-60 time of under 4.9 seconds.Fast. What I like is that it's a stealth car. A cursory look and most will think it's a Chevy Impala or Malibu....but holy hell does this car move. And stop with standard Brembo brakes. It comes fully loaded, even with a heads-up display and onboard WiFi. I think the only options you can choose are transmission, color and sunroof.
I am disappointed that Acura has given up on manuals. If this is supposed to be the sport/luxury brand, then why no manual? I haven't owned an American brand as my primary car for more than 15 years. With no Acura replacement, that may change. Good luck in your hunt. Don't compromise -- find a manual you love. With your other GM cars, the SS will fit right in!

Only thing I don't like about the SS Sedan is the significant amount of chrome on the interior, and the horrendous dealer service. Otherwise, it is a fantastic buy.
