Srs code 9-2 solution .

I guess i can only post on acurazine now.. odyclub.com is retarded. Can't register, no link or any way to retrieve old password. Threads not posted on Hondaforums .

Anyway this applies to most hondas 2001-2009 I think. To pull codes type in Google "honda srs code pull" Basically shorting pin 4 and 9 on diagnistics outlet
Then counting flashes.

I think I got scammed by dealer. I had 2 codes for a long time. Over half a year. 6-1 and 9-2. 6-1 is backle switch code which is free warranty. Went to dealer to get Thst fixed. Deal was if one of the codes is warranty replacement then no charge. But if not I have to pay for their 1.5 hour tedious code pulling that takes 30 sec. 120$.
They only pulled 9-2 code. I think those faqers replaced backle switch and said there is no warranty issues to fix.

Anyway code 9-2 is srs indicator light. It's an amergency light /passenger airbag labeled assembly. Usually in one piece on most hondas. The dealer did not even want to point to which part is problematic till I kind of said"what the faq am I paying 120$ for? For being here? " show me the part number. Faqers.

Usually u just pull the panel out where that indicator/button is and push it out from the back. Or u can pry it off with screw driver from the front

If someone can recommend odyssey club forums I'd appreciate. I'd still be around. Working on RL heads and cams swap to odyssey 2009

dude, that was a BEAR to read.. English please?

Any safety related issues (i.e. seat belt buckles) should be part of the lifetime warranty and replaced for free.

yes on hondas till 2007 .

The thing is I did not watch what they did to my car for 1.5 hours.. maybe they also saw code 6-1 which is warranty replacement. But to get more money out or me they did not say they replaced it. It's just baffling. I had this code forever. I checked codes again on their parking lot.. it was only one 9-2 code . So since there was no warrantyreplacement code I had to pay 120$ for "diagnostics"... that's why I do all work myself . Or watch a mechanic do alignment so there are no extra 70$ for "stuck bolt had to use torch" or other similar bs..

Anyway I put new indicator light from junk yard for 15$ problem solved

So.. you said you got a 9-2 code and a 6-1 code when you went in.

You came out and you only had a 9-2 code left, 6-1 code no longer existed? Does the buckle look new So basically what you're trying to determine is whether or not they changed the buckle and charged you 120 bucks, or didn't change the buckle and charge you the money?

buckle does not look new. But I believe it's not buckle mechsnism.. it's an electronic piece a switch. So yes exactly. HaD 2 codes for a long time. Did not have time to fix them. Just before I dropped off the car had 2 codes.and then 1 code.. of course I may be wrong. But how do codes dissappear like that? Purpose of this thread is that when people Google "honda odyssey acura accord srs 9-2 code light" they come here and hopefully don't need to spend shet load of money at a dealer.
I'll post one other solution to a problem.. That applies to most cars where licence plate lights and brake light are on the trunk. I just can't post on odyclub.com. no way to Re register. Or retrieve old password

1) basically if they said you have to codes 9-2 and 6-1 then my appointmentis free of charge. 6-1 is fixed for free.
2)
If they say listen u don't have free warranty replacement issue. U have one 9-2 light. So it's gonna be 120$ for out time.
So I suspect they went with option 2

Just to clarify, this is on your Odyssey right? If so, the thread will be moved to a more general section where more advice can be given. Many members with SRS experience probably don't really frequent the 2G RL section.

yes its on odyssey 2005. Rare problem. I had 4 odyssey 2005-2010 . And never really heard or had srs light issues except for code 6-1 that applies to backle switch. Again I don't need advice on this issue. I am just posting so when people Google they can find a possible solution. So if its more applicable in other subforums please move this thread there. I could not find anything on honda code 9-2. Should be all the same on hondas and acuras 2001-2009. I think it's same srs system through those years

I know this thread is old but can you clarify something?

Was your SRS dash light on for the 9-2 or the passenger airbag/emergency switch light?
Also you solved the 9-2 code by replacing the airbag/emergency switch light, correct?

Thank you for posting this.
