Someone broke in
So I walked to my car in the morning only to find the passenger side window smashed completely.
Upon entering I noticed my upper storage bin was completely torn out, and cracked and my gear box was also ripped up. Apparently these thieves were in a hurry.
I have an aftermarket Alpine head-unit which replaced my stock stereo. Fortunately for me, it's a major pain in the ass to remove the headunit out of my car .
They took nothing. the headunit was pulled out, but not damaged. Nothing was taken out of my car. Essentially all they did was break the window, tear up the inside, and cost me money and a headache.
I think they may have gotten spooked mid-way through the process and bailed. I live in a nice neighborhood, parked a few houses down on the street under a street light.
Car is already in the shop.
BTW I have an 06 350z.
Sucks, but I suppose it could have been worse. I even left my wallet in the car, and they left it and took nothing out of it.

Looks kinda RSX at first...lol
Sorry to hear that bro, but shit happens. My moms car was stolen, they took stereo and old ass battery. We were fortunate to get the car back in 1 piece instead of searching for parts on craigslist...lol

They should just enact a new law - any thieves caught breaking into a car get stoned to death. No trial.

Ya, thanks man.
Yea, I'm lucky they didn't actually take anything, or break my headunit.
No. I believe they broke the window and climbed in without unlocking the door.
I'm down.

Cancel your credit cards/bank cards.....even though they didn't take your cards/wallet....if they were smart they just took your numbers.

wire a shock sensor and a glass sensor into the hood latch, so when the car shakes or when the glass breaks when off, the car will think the hood has been opened and set off the alarm.

Screw that. Police don't really give a crap about auto theft unfortunately, because there's not much they're legally allotted to do unless they catch the thief in action, which pretty much never happens unless its a bait car.
Texas is awesome though. You can shoot a thief that's in the process of stealing your property, which is just awesome. You just DON'T mess with another man's automobile, its just plain wrong. Thieves have little or no morals whatsoever, so why do they deserve a fair chance? Who's to say they're going to change their ways?
Its like having your significant other kidnapped. You're helpless and can't really do shit, and it just bothers the hell out of you for weeks on afterwards. If I saw my best friend trying to steal my car I would bash his skull in. Automobile theft is a serious matter that pisses me off to no end.

The sizzle in the Steak
I've been monitoring my credit cards. No unusal activity. I highly doubt they took the numbers. They must have been in a rush since the job was so sloppy, and something spooked them mid-way. The police said the same thing. I had my important cards in the house but i will be checking either way.
Most theives today a smart enought NOT to take your cards, but rather just the numbers.....it lets them use them for a longer amount of time without getting caught.
