Nice E92!! My son is in the process of dumping off his 05 Alti in favor of an E90 335i.

Well, maybe get some stock sized cross drilled rotors in the meantime.

I've noticed several of your posts have a similar theme to them... so just curious as to when you owned your BMW(s). Many (probably should say most) people in Car Talk strayed from Acura some time ago. I know personally we are on our 3rd German car since 2005/2006 and each one was more reliable then my TL was. Most others have had positive experiences as well. Like many here in Car Talk, I'll likely never go back to Acura.

I would never go with these kind of low-profile tires. I have 225/40 or 90cm of tire height I can barely tolerate them .... three rims repaired.... you have like 70.... good chance with your teeth.

Glad you have had good fortune and hope the OP does as well.
New car predicted reliability by Consumer Reports December issue paints quite a different story. Their 2012 Buyers Guide also doesn't show the 3 Series in a very positive light. I would love to have a BMW but I guess I'll never get to the proper comfort level. That is a good looking car however.

We all are at different stages of our lives which might account for some of the difference in opinion.

I think most of us know what the books say and almost all have first or second hand experiences. I also think that when someone... especially on a car forum, makes a purchase like this, they tend to know what they're buying... so just curious about islandbeef's posts. Seems whenever someone posts about BMW, he posts a similar reply, so was just curious what he has experienced himself. Not something anyone else can really answer...

Congratulation!!!

So if OP had purchased a 335i Sedan, would the purchase have not made sense?

OP - Great car! Wheels and tires are not my cup o' tea but great pick up!

Not that I can afford them right now, but it still annoys me that companies like Vossen offer a majority of their wheels only in 20's. I can understand if they don't want to or can't offer 15, 16,17, maybe even 18 inch wheels. But I would think that offering 19's would only increase their client base.

K back on topic.

Nice switch!

I have the same exterior color with the saddle tan interior. It's a blast to drive, enjoy!

I can't agree with you more. That's one of the things that irks me too.

Sorry, didn't mean to interfere with your private conversation on the forum. I've never had a BMW but have owned 4 VW's and 2 Audi' s over the years. loved the ride, hated the ownership experience. i have close friends that have been very happy or disappointed with newer Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, VW, and Audi. All of my information doesn't come from books. My experience is just different from yours.
