Sold my CTS-V (VIDEO) :(

As many of you know I had Baby-V up for sale again. She went to a pretty cool car enthusiast up in Vancouver, BC. Hopefully he'll be here on the site. The guy also has a Buick GNX and a Typhoon so he's no stranger to power and GM.

It's strange how one can become attached to a material object like a car. I honestly felt sadness and regret when I handed over the keys. I followed him from the bank to the highway and couldn't remember a sweeter sounding exhaust (and there are a ton of Ferrari's around Bellevue - damn Microsoft money).

Anyway, I put together a small tribute compilation of pics and vids. Some parts you've already seen. The end clip is my favorite. Make sure you listen to the audio with a good subwoofer. There's alot of bass in the exhaust note. I should have played around with my camera mounts a long time ago...enjoy.

Great video tribute! I love the last clip of the exhaust. Simply beautiful. I'm sure it'll be appreciated by the new owner, that lucky bastard!

Great tribute to an exceptional car! It really looks like you always kept her looking her best when you had her. I bet you'll miss that intoxicating noise early in the morning as well.

Nah, just wanted something a little more "practical" and something a little slower so I live long enough to see my kid grow up a little more.

I think 556hp was the latest I had read.

Cadillac is showing 556 HP and 551 lb/ft torque on the new '09 CTS-V. This should most certainly make an already world-class performance sedan just that much better and turn it into the mark to beat. They are also claiming a 0-60 run in 4.0 seconds - did not see any quarter mile times, but my guess is the very low 12's.

holy jesus that's like a 4 door ZR1 Vette
yes i know a stock ZR1 Vette can EASILY get into the 11s just picking it up from the dealer but the new CTS-V isn't to far off.

I was at the Caddy dealer today and the New Car sales manager said like 600HP, said he had ordered 2 from Canada's allocation of 30.

Yes, it does make one very serious sedan, that is for sure. And it really looks the part, too. My hat's off to Cadillac for doing what should have been done and that is to smack the face of some of the world's finest and serious machinery.

Incidently, I think you meant to say Z06 Vette, not a ZR1. I have seen a video of a box stock (tires and all) Z06 (new model) turn an 11.72 at 128 MPH at (Maryland International Raceway). And this with a poor launch and nothing special about the driver's shifting. If he knew what he was doing, I bet he could have managed an 11.5 or slightly less at around 130 MPH. This is incredible performance.

560 or 600 hp, doesn't matter, that's some serious smack in the ass to the Germans and the Japanese powerwise. Don't forget that the CTS even in DI trim and with AWD actually competes--favorably--with my beloved RL. I can't believe I'm saying this again, but.....dang I guess when we Americans are against the wall, we can produce some pretty good products.

If I were buying a daily driver today, it would almost certainly (90% likelihood) be a CTS as Acura's new designs are just ugly.

Cadillac CTS-V

I already told my wife that she better get used to the idea that we'll have Acuras and Cadillacs for the rest of our lives (I may throw in a Vette or 911 there a couple times ). I may have to win the lottery to keep this consistently going, but I can at least plan, right?

LOVE that exhaust sound btw...good luck with the new project...and additional luck feeding that Cayenne beast almost 5-bucks-a-gallon gasoline
