Congratulations Coal, that is a gorgeous beautiful 996TT. Thumbs up too for being appreciative of what your parents can offer you instead of taking it for granted.(Don't get me started on the local GWU kids)
As for the car itself, I wouldn't worry too much about reliability being a major issue. There a few members on Rennlist that have over 190k+ and a particular gentlemen from switzerland driving a 320k miles 00 996TT. You might have little issues here and there that can be resolved from preventive maintenance, but the big stuff is bulletproof. I suggest you to subscribe to Rennlist and Teamspeed, these two forums have a great deal of current and past members.
Last but not least, if you plan on tracking your car, I suggest you to upgrade your stock brakes but by all means track it. Most fun you will ever have. With your clothes on anyways.

Wow, congrats on the new ride! That thing is downright gorgeous
I wish you luck with your education! I'm 23 and still working on getting my bachelors
It sounds like you're doing exceptionally well so keep on doing what you've been doing! Try not to let the Porsche distract you
Owning and taking pictures of a car with an original price of $100k+ with a $2 camera isn't cool. Get some better pictures asap.

Normally when people come on here with "gifted" cars they are asses... and get theirs handed to them on here.
Glad to see you have your head screwed on straight and can appreciate what was given to you. Keep the rubber side down and be safe. Also, good luck with school and keep going in the direction you are

Looks like I'm a little late to the party, but holly smokes sick car! Congrats!!!
It took me until age 34 to get a 6spd/AWD/turbo car (and a measly Mazda at that, not a P-car!) but I'm not smart like the rest of you guys, I went into the arts. I'm glad there's rich kids with super cars like you out there so I can live vicariously through you lol.
But in all seriousness, age is just a number and you seem to be more mature than a lot of 40 year olds I know (not you of course T), so enjoy and godspeed my friend. Let us know how the Texas Mile goes down!

Congrats and drive safe!
Good luck with your masters as well! I am wrapping up my second this summer. Hopefully I'll be able to get a P-car in the near future...

And the Texas mile.... I can't wait. There's a list about two miles long to get in lol so that'll pan out eventually...I hope
Thanks! Nice going for the second masters! It can only help get even closer to the P-car.

Congrats! I've got a big 'ol Homer Simpson drool going on over here. LOVE the Turbo from any generation. Despite some people not loving the 996 - I always have.
Glad to read that you have the maturity to realize that you are not immortal nor are the other people on the road with you.
Can't wait to see some auto-x pics of you seeing what that thing can do!

When I was first reading it I was thinking "awesome, another kid in a high powered sports car that probably wont appreciate it and lives off his parents dime".
Then you hit us (that didnt already know) with the school/career post, and I approve Congrats! Enjoy it in good health!
Sooooo.........if your parents were to...say.....adopt a 23 year old college dropout (but has been working since the age of 17).....what do you think they'd give me- I mean said person?

Nice 996TT. Don't care how old you are, anyone who has the oppo to drive one of those is one lucky dude.
Keep it shiny side up and all will be good!

Congrats, very nice 996TT and (you've probably already heard this a couple hundred time) extremely nice parents. Take it easy and learn it's limits slowly. Good luck in school.
