How is an RL better than a CTS-V? aside from the fact they are apples and oranges.
And how is a Pathfinder that needs 2-3k of work better than a car that costs as much as my monthly gas fees in the Pathfinder?
I expected some retarded comments over my getting an ugly hybrid...but christ...dont be complete idiot.

Maybe what he meant was (from) RL ==> (to) CTS-V
and Pathfinder ==> Prius
hence his "wonder what my next car will be" comment

I think society's distaste for it is just because hybrids have a love it/hate it following, and the Prius is the hybrid car. It's synonymous with hybrids like Kleenex is with tissue paper. A Prius, or many hybrids out there in general are actually really good cars when you consider the overall package. They're more fuel efficient of course, and usually add a degree of technology, unique features or trim touches, and they're better when it comes to NVH. Also, they can be pretty affordable, especially when its a dedicated hybrid like the Insight or the Prius. Plus the hatch is convenient as far as I can tell.... I forgot that the back seats fold down.
Ironic too, as this morning I saw (well, I have abnormally good hearing, so I heard the "hum" first) of an Altima across the street and thought about this very subject before my commute. I'm not saying there aren't better options. But for the way our energy infrastructure is setup, a hybrid isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
Still.....a Grand Wagoneer would have been cooler

I don't think I would own a hybrid, but then again, I'm young and dunno where life will take me.
Although its not as bad as everyone thinks, I mean its got no performance, but its not suppose to have any. I drove one back at the LA auto show, and it was alright I guess, but nothing spectacular nonetheless. The interior is alright I think I would take one over the camry. I Was trying to edge my dad to see if he could have gotten a good deal on one of these instead of a corolla. But that didnt work out.

I was just telling my friend today that if I had a hybrid like a Prius... I'd go EVERYWHERE... seriously. I'd get up and freakin' drive down to San Diego just to take some pics and come back and say "I went to San Diego on 4 gallons of gas today" lol
*note: I have to admit.... as much as I love my FX45 (with a ton of mods), it's a freakin' gas hog...

With the amount of money I spend per week on gas in my TL, you won't hear me rip you for getting a Prius for that kinda dough. Nice deal.
I'd consider one if it allowed me to get a RX7 or LS1 Camaro.

Dont get me started...I really didnt want to replace the pathfinder...it would have been nice if this shit cropped up in another year...but these things seldom happen when you want. I also didnt want another new car...but the math is hard to argue with.
We will be looking at CRVs for her soon enough.

Very nice deal. I'm not a hybrid fan, but I can appreciate what that car offers in general and for you specifically. Regardless of what I or anyone else thinks, it serves its purpose, and in your case, is doing so for very little money. That's a win. Plus, you still have that amazing machine under the car cover. What more could you ask for?

If someone had told you last year that your next car would be a Prius, what would you have done?

Needs more Lemon Pledge
Congrats on the pickup!
Fuck it, if its a point A to point B car, why not get the most fuel efficient you can? And the lease deal looks like a winner.
Just to maintain order in the universe, the next time you get gas, spill about 8-10 gallons on the ground while saying RIP Pathfinder.

"Good deal" is relative, isn't it. It depends on what the "deal" is and what you "get" from it. 10k off MSRP is not enough for one person while someone else will think 10k over is fair.
The Prius is a well engineered vehicle with many advanced features but I hate driving them and would never own one.
That's why there's so many different kinds of cars on the road...

The new Prius is really starting to grow on me. I used to hate the old ones and was annoyed by the "tree-huggers" who drove them but HELL those things are perfect for commuting around the city. And if you already have a Challenger...win.
Only thing I'm not sure about is the interior. Maybe it gets more interesting on the loaded trim levels. Is navi an option on these cars?
This is an Acura forum and all but let's use some logic here. RL vs CTS-V? No..

Yes you can get these cars pretty loaded. III, IV, V models all have optional Navi and back up cams. Solar panel sunroofs, among other options. The IV and V have leather.
I got the III no navi...but I got the 10 speaker JBL system and bluetooth, also has sirius and aux input.
Its smart on Toyota with some of the standard features they give, so people really feel they are getting their monies worth to move these cars.
I have push button start, like my challenger....except I also have keyless entry. I walk up to the door and it unlocks when I pull the handle and Locks when I touch a corner piece of the door handle. Challenger I still have to push the unlock button (oh the horror!)
All 4 windows are auto down/up.
They just put in some nice little touches. This 3rd gen I think is supposedly 0-60 in 7.3 sec...it feels pretty zippy....and 3 freaking times today I had to hit sepulveda in the twisties to avoid traffic...once in my challenger and twice in the prius. Prius handles surprisingly well, much stiffer chassis than you'd think.
Of course my big pig of a Challenger with its SMS suspension (which is now all settled) will still rip those twisties at surprising speeds.

how handsome I am
and it's totally cool you did what you did. A nice gas-sipper for the daily, a haul-ass guzzler for the fun time. Exactly where I want my car situation to be someday.

If it makes you feel any better, the Prius supposedly isn't very good for the environment.
Nickel is mined at a plant in Sudbury, ON. Surrounding land is so shitty that NASA uses it to test its Moon Rover
Shipped to Europe where it's refined
Off to Japan to be installed
Then put on a bigass gas-powered boat to come all the way back here
I know the 1G Prius' process was something like this, don't know if the 2G is any different.
At any rate, you're not bending over backwards for the environment, you're just saving a ton of cash on gas

No doubt you gotta give the wife what she wants....keep her happy.......but make sure she drives the Tucson....that thing puts the CRV to shame in pretty much every aspect from design (inside and out) to powertrain. The only downside would be a slightly reduced cargo capacity due to the sloping rear.

Worse lease deals too. Maybe that will change.

Wow, hell has really frozen over. But a Prius is definitely a nice way of balancing out the Challenger.
With your lease deal, you seriously have me thinking about dumping the Saturn. $250/mo is peanuts.
