Good grief! Who does that? That's like saving your plastic soda cup from McDonalds so it will be collectible one day.

You've probably never driven a CVCC

I have no experience, but gotta give props to Honda for developing an engine that essentially introduces two different air/fuel mixtures resulting in a burn that is clean enough to pass emissions testing without a catalytic converter.

It's too bad they're no longer the leader in engine tech. Not that they have bad engines; they just don't lead the pack when it comes to innovation like they used to.

Geez, I'm so old not only have I driven various flavors of CVCCs (I think they were all yellow, literally every one of them), but I've worked on them as well. Funny thing, as in awe as I was of that multi-pot carb with the rich side and the lean side, I absolutely hated those cars back then; all these years later I'm still not exactly fond of them. With that said, I'm having a very difficult time imagining anybody, and I do mean ANYBODY, ponying up over twenty-large for that car.

Sort of on the topic of this whole RPM to speed thing, I just pulled up my handy-dandy (Notebook? No, sorry Steve fans.) rpm to speed calculator and found this:
  • About 2,000 RPMs @ 70 mph -- Gen 7 Accord Auto/3G TL Auto
  • About 2,500 RPMs @ 70 mph -- Gen 7 Accord 6MT/3G TL 6MT
What is interesting about the above, the 6MT models are both faster and get better gas mileage. The J-Series engine is so silky smooth and quiet there is virtually zero difference in engine noise and vehicle vibration. Personally, I'd much rather have the 6MT version, noise, mileage, acceleration be damned, I want three pedals under my dash for the pure enjoyment of driving the cars.

Those tires were alright, and new... They had plenty of grip on corners... My "Accord handles better statement" was about how the weight transfer was better in the Accord vs. TL in the corners...

The clunking suspension on the RDX was bad struts that I replaced almost 50K miles ago, now...

This exact model was my first Honda. POS that seemingly spent more time in the shop than on the road.

As the former owner of an 07 EX-L V6 Navi 5AT sedan, it was nothing to write home about. Honestly, my old 14 Accord Sport CVT was a more enjoyable experience.

You have posted that before... I feel very differently...

But the '14 has more creature comforts and such... More modern, larger... It's a good thing, but too much like what I have now...

I want an older car for it's simplicity and raw feel...

I also want to ditch the smart key, pano roof, and other wacky electronics that act up...

Might have been new, but they're certified pieces of shit. I wouldn't trust them on a golf cart or even as a tie swing. Those are Firestone specials.. except shittier.

Any perceived handling you felt in the Accord goes out the door with those shit tires and other issues with your TL.

I had a 1979 Accord manual that was pretty good. Great first car.

I remember the AV6-6 being quite quick when they were new & I was working for the local Honda dealer.
I also remember them having pretty touchy clutches. Not 1G CTS-V touchy, but much more than the typical Honda product.

Once again... The TL did handle well, very well, infact! It's just that the Accord felt more light on it's feet... I didn't even push the car...
