Smoke coming from steering coloumn

1990 oldsmobile 98! It started smoking not a lot of smoke but, there was small streams of smoke around the steering coloumn! Just had new water pump put on, harmonic balancer, and oil change! Is it safe to drive?

Probably not. If the smoke smell like something burning then you have some kind of fire going on there. Probably an electrical fire.

If you like to see where you're going, I'd probably not drive it

Does it smell like something burning? Or does it smell like coolant?

Not familiar with that ... car? ... but - Typically, anytime there's any condensation in the cabin, it's usually a bad heatercore.

Public Enemy made a song about it. Wow. Brings back memories.
